Any deal available on the Koda 16?

    • also waiting on a deal on the 16 however is it really worth double the price?

      • Same waiting on 16 deal but I really want to try it out first and see if it is worth the $1k.

    LPG Only.
Not compatible with natural gas i.e real home gas. Rules me out.

    • -1

From previous comments, I understand there is a natural gas conversion kit for the Koda 16.

    • just need to change the just ….. natural gas also have a bayonet fitting instead POS …. gas conversion easy but does need jet and new hose.

    • +12

How many pies you making that if becomes cost effective to convert to natural gas?
a 9kg bottle should last you ages + have the convenience of it being portable/relocated.

each to their own, just seems overkill to me.

      • It will never be cost effect, natural gas cost more than bottled

      • Pies?

        • +1

          Sorry, It's cool sounding Americanism.
          "Pizza Pie"
"Aye Tony! What's a man gotta do to get a couple pies around 'ere"

    • +1

I didn't realise people had such a hate of LPG.

I recently bought the barbeques galore version for $350 and I'm very happy with it. Always wanted the Koda 12 but stock was hard to find.

The BBQs galore one worked fantastic with my Neapolitan style pizza.
Absolutely love this style of pizza oven, it's so convenient being gas fueled and so portable. It's relatively light and the legs fold up.
No messing around with wood/fire, especially if your pizza is going to be cooking in approximately 2 minutes.
You can always smoke some pizza ingredients if you want to add the smoke flavour.

    • Is it the arrosto as that's currently 399

      • +1

Yes, there was a sale previously shared on Ozbargain that brought it down to $349.

Also the square stone is removable as well.
There's a few videos on it on YouTube for anyone interested.

        • Great thanks! Good to know because at that price I'm keen to get one

    • I also got this one, can 100% recommend

    • Is the Arrosto a 16 incher? Looks like it from the specs (430mm wide)

      • I just measured the actual pizza stone in the arrosto pizza oven and it's 340mm wide, 305mm deep

        • Oh thanks for that. So it's more or less a ooni koda 12

      • I bought the arrosto too. $349 as they honoured the EOFY sale. Bloody fantastic!!!! Even made a FB group for it.

I was smashing out pizzas in 3 min cook time.

    • How long does it take to heat up beige you can cook a pizza?

      • I personally pre heat on high for 15-20 minutes and turn it down before I put a pizza in. In between pizzas I'll turn it back up to high to make sure the stone regains the heat it transferred to the pizza.

  • Thanks op, bought

  • This or 100% cashback Pizza Hut?

    • +1

      probably this

  • +6

Got the Coles one for $200. We use it at least once a week - it's awesome.

    • +2

I'm still spewing I missed out on that one

    • I remember they went as low as $140 at my local. Although I have an ooni, I was almost tempted to try one at that price. It looked like a pretty solid unit.

  • +2

I had an older model pellet version, was loads of fun, great pizzas really better than oven. But of a pain tending the fire. Looking forward to using this

  • +3

Have a proper wood fired pizza oven and end up using this more still. Makes good neopolitan pizza. Soft and crunchyyy.

  • how much more of an improvement is this vs a pizza stone in a household oven?

    • +8

Household oven only get to 250c - pizza base takes 5-10mins minutes to cook at that temp. Toppings get fried/dried out.

Dedicated pizza ovens get to 400c+. Base takes 1min. Toppings perfect.

    • +1

Spent a lot of time playing around with a stone and oven.
You can get a decent pizza by getting the oven as hot as possible with a stone in for ~40 mins or so
Then flick the dough + sauce onto the stone and let it cook a few mins
Take back out with the pizza peel and add toppings
Back in for a few more mins

This will make a reasonable pizza, but nothing like a proper neapolitan dough on a pizza oven
I've got the 12 inch gas ooni. Lots of folk on the forums said don't bother with the wood / pellet as it 1) doesn't impart much flavour at all and 2) is a pain in the arse
      Glad i didn't get wood
Would get a 16 instead of the 12 though, it's quite cramped

      Love the ooni.

  • I'll give it a go. Been on the lookout to try one of these Woodfire ovens. Does this use same gas as weber?

    • Yep. I swap the bottle between my 12 and my Weber Q with no dramas.

      • Awesome thanks

  • +1

    Gone, was reading reviews 😂😂

    • +1

Anaconda has raised you by adding more stock 😏

  • Are these any good for New York style pizzas (crispier and thinner)?

    • +1

Yep. You just have to turn the temperature down.

  • +2

Wow, you'd wanna make a lot of pizzas to make this price worthwhile, wouldn't you?

    • +3

A good pizza is over $20 where I am in Sydney so a party or two it should've been saved home and you gained another skill.

      • It will take longer than that, you have to factor in the cost of all the ingredients and base too.

    • Just what I was thinking. I have recently bought a pizza stone which I will try out in the gas BBQ fully cranked - one of these days.

    • +1

We make 3 pizzas a week.

Comparable pizzas are $25 from our wood fire place.

It's about $14 in ingredients to make three, maybe $2 in gas. So $16 for 3. $59 saved per pizza night (not that we could afford good pizza every week).

For us that's 8 weeks of pizza.

Pizza oven means we never have crap pizza (Domino's/even our local 'pizza' store comes nowhere near the taste of ours), and we can have it more often without breaking the bank .

It's also a really easy entertaining option. Last Christmas we just did pizza and salad. Everyone brought their own toppings and we did the dough. Really sociable and because it's outside no one was stuck in the kitchen.

    • I’ve had pizza parties at home and made a bit of an event out of it. Had like 12 pizzas. At $22 per pizza (for worse quality) I had almost already payed it off after 2 pizza parties. Plus many times just cooking for myself.

  • The pellet version is $449 at Anaconda. Delivery price sucks, but there is a bit of stock around. https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/camp-cooking/c…

    • Pellet sounds like alot of hassle?

      • Dunno 🤷. Bag of pellets is pretty accessible. Easy to take to the beach or mates house instead of a gas bottle.

  • +1

It appears to be back in stock? But the one at bbqgalore is a bit cheaper as someone said

  • Good, pizza miles better than Dominos or PH, which I don't eat at anyway, but I couldn't get my pizza crust as good as the ones from AVPN places, sold mine and went back to just eating at AVPN restaurants.

  • +1

No peel included…has anyone compared the Roccbox v Koda 12?

    • Roccbox seem to be better quality as it has thicker insulation, thicker stone and different flame shape, similar size to the Ooni Koda 12 but selling for $799 inc pizza peel. I seen few pizza food truck or business using the Roccbox, so assume better option, but it cost quiet a bit more $$ than the Ooni Koda 12..

      • Can get the Roccbox for around $705 with 5% referral off and 7% cashrewards

  • Showing OOS for me. Bugger.

  • damn i missed it

    • Let me know if it comes back in stock. I'm keen for it!

  • So what’s everyone getting to put this on? Sussing out cart options.

    • Outdoor table?

    • +1

IKEA Grillskar outdoor kitchen. We bought two - one for the oven and one as a prep area - makes it much more convenient and social

  • Just got an email from Anaconda - order cancelled

    • Same here, can they do that?

      • +1

No idea but it's back in stock (just without the discount code) so they obviously have stock

        • +1

          $522 delivered using BRANDS5OFF

          • @Sandyspunkwinkle: I'm hoping the Anaconda cancel email is just automated because the eBay order still hasn't been cancelled

        • indeed, scummy

  • Damn i was looking for one of these!

  • Stock is available again but only a 5% off with code BRANDS5OFF

  • bought with brands5off

  • SNSJULY is now $50 off but back out of stock again

  • Thank you for shopping at our Anaconda eBay store.
Unfortunately we are unable to fulfil the item(s) shown below from your order.
These unfulfilled items have been refunded to your original payment method.
Please accept our apology for any inconvenience caused.

This is despite them putting stock back up again and again. 21 units were sold after my purchase so I'd imagine other people will get cancelled as well

  • So they just relist the item and then cancel the orders? Bought 1 @ 5:30 got cancelled email @ 10:30?

    • Bunch of clowns

  • EBay cancellation came through….

    • How long after the purchase? thanks

      • +1

Bought on Saturday, cancelled Tuesday AM

  • cancelled. dogs

  • +1

mine just got cancelled.. now i have $500 worth of ebay vouchers i got from the shopback app… very disappoint Anaconda!

  • Like others, bought after stock was put back and got cancelled too.
The only (small) consolation is that I bought other stuff at the same time and the voucher was not cancelled, so the remaining item was half price in the end.

  • Not quite the same bargain, but currently available on ebay for $599, free shipping, code: HOMSNS

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/334495307290?hash=item4de179561a…

    • I bought Koda 12 clone from BBQ Galore for $349 (even cheaper using discounted gift card by 10%), currently selling for $399. Similar to Koda 12 but better location for the gas knob control as it is on the side rather than the rear (which is awkward to reach).
