Only $50…? It was $100 a few weeks ago.

Just make sure you compare different insurers. Woolies was cheap for one of our cars, but for the other car Allianz was nearly half the price!

I pay $151 with budget direct, $330 quote with Woolworths for my car, and they couldn't price beat it:)

    Is CARX03 valid for 20K points = $100

  • Australia post (QBE) would be a better choice.
Was cheaper for me with unlimited km

  • *Up to 15% discount consists of 3 parts: 5% first year discount, 5% off for online applicants (both of these are first year only), and up to 5% off to exclude drivers under 25. Minimum premiums may reduce savings discount. Any part, or all, of the 15% discount offer can be withdrawn at any time.

Far cheaper however for missus car than RACQ

  • Who needs car insurance when you can just do a mspaint of your car accident?

    • Just don't get into car accidents, easy.

Is it only me or their insurance is awfully expensive? The quote is about $1260 whereas Coles was around $1100 and Budget direct was only $850.

    • Yes. It is expensive. Same here. Went with Budget Direct.

      • Insurance is one of those things that pays to shop around. Currently we have four policies with four different insurers (including one with Woolies and one with Budget Direct). Yes, postcode makes a difference, but clearly different makes/models makes a difference.

Definitely not a "one size fits all" approach.

Also, the 10% once month genuinely should be factored in to your consideration to go with Woolworths. Considering the cost of everything at the moment you can make this discount quite considerable with a bit of planning each month.

        • We do a big shop once a month to maximise it and offset the cost of the insurance.

I got an online quote from Budget Direct last week and the next day they offered me a $60 gift card to lock it in

  • Is budget direct any good, as far as good goes that is? The reviews are terrible online?

  • Lots of mentions of Budget Direct….. I asked the panelbeater where my car was getting repaired about them and he said they were terrible for him to deal with. He said he wouldn't use them. I don't have experience with them myself.

    • Woolworths insurance make you pay the excess to the repairer as part payment on behalf of them

      • Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I was with budget direct last year, Woolies this year. Probably auspost next year lol

Too expensive ( double) compared to Royal automotive club insurance.

  • On a 2017 Toyota Camry Hybrid for agreed value of $21,500 with $700 excess it was $1023 compared to $531 with RAC (WA).
On a 2020 Renault Zoe Electric for agreed value of $35,500 with $700 excess it was $1173 compared to $406 with RAC (WA).

So pretty much twice the amount I pay now excluding the $50 and 10% off shops☹️. I'll stay with RAC.
I'll also stick with a Woolwoths Mobile for my 10% off shops thanks. 😀

    • Comprehensive ?
      Thats cheap

      • Yes, both policies are comprehensive. RAC give a low emissions discount on both vehicles.

  • *make sure you change address online quote, so does the browser, bought one last week through IE because chrome was showing expensive (+-$150)
I used REW20K , worth $20k rewards point = $100, so do the math before paying final amount, Good luck !

One way to get a cheaper quote is by reducing the agreed car value. Now why would anyone do it ? Well, as in my case ..its a old car ,the cover is more for legal liability ( cover for damage to other people's property in case it's my fault ).Don't want to run into a million dollar property / car and then get sued for damages ,if its my fault.
For e.g a 2007 SUV model -agreed value 8000 AUD ,when reduced to 5000 AUD reduces the premium by approx 200-300 AUD (20-30 % ) which is huge saving.
Yes , I understand that I will be paid out only the max agreed value ( 5K ) in case of any accident, but that's ok .
Might not make sense to those who have a new car though ,but it's a 15- 20-25 year old vehicle can save if u dont really care about your car value and only trying to cover Legal Liability.

  • Confirming this code still works. But i went with REW20K . The price seemed to be the same using both codes, so opted for the 20k points rather than the $50 giftcard
