  • Anyone had experience with the ASUS TUF gaming F15? Looking for a laptop that meets requirements for VR but can also do some gaming… specs seem fine but not familiar with the specifics

    • Looking for a laptop that meets requirements for VR but can also do some gaming…

      ?

      • +2

He wants VR porn and gaming on the side

    • do you have a VR headset already? if no then, honestly, just get a quest 2

i don't think laptop dedicated GPUs are a good fit for VR, not atm and with how power hungry the next gen nvidias are i doubt that is going to change much anytime soon

if you need a high powered tethered experience you should just spring for a powerful desktop or an ultrabook with an external GPU - but that might cost you more

  • when are we going to get that rdna 2 goodness in an ultra book format

seems to be taking an eternity

expecting them to be ultra light, slim and efficient with class leading battery life and performance at exceptional value - should blow every budget option out of the water or am I dreaming

    • looks like they are finally hitting US now!

      https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/laptops/thinkbook/thinkbook-series/thinkbook-13s-gen-4-(13-inch-amd)/len101b0015

got my eyes on something with a 6800U, hopefully coming to australia soon

    • +1

Depending on what your priorities are, but yes, it should bring excellent (in a relative sense) gaming capabilities for onboard graphics - nearly up to the level of low-end dedicated graphics (eg low-power 3050 seen on some high-end business laptops). Great for those (like me) who primarily want a business style laptop but with the ability for occasional gaming, it will be nice to play even relatively recent triple A titles.

      • i rarely play anything else but company of heroes 2 in flatworld these days

as far as the cpu these energy sipping 6000 series ryzen easily outperform my ryzen 5 3600 VR rig, they are ridiculous

they are a little bit pricier than i was expecting tho, looks like we'll be lucky to see these lenovos for $1400

  • 3 year warranty? ASUS? I swore off ASUS after they wouldn't honour any warranty when my Zenbook died last year after 26 months. Paid $2300 for it new. I'm still salty about it

  • Says free shipping, but it's charging 10 bucks? Have I missed something?
