this is 1 projector + 1 soundbar + 1000 jb gift card for 3094 , i think you can at least sell the gc for $800 :D and the sound bar for $100

      • Thanks

      • Easy sell the GC for $900, and possibly push the sound bar to $150ish (when sales over). :)

Have some manners you douchebag. You shouldn’t need to be told to treat people well to know it’s the right way to act.

And a big thank you Seinfeld and Friends… for not only the two most unfunny "comedy" shows in TV history, but for turning Australia into America (only with slightly higher IQ politicians than AOC). ;-D

        • +1

AOC graduated cum laude from Boston university, has an astronaut named after her due to winning a science competition. It’s fair to say she’s achieved a hell of a lot more than some random mouth-breather online who tries to punch down on women and minorities.

I have this and never going back to anything less than 120" screen. Highly rated.

      • do you use a screen or just to the wall?

      • wall or screen?

        • AR120H
Has to be screen otherwise 4K quality not there.

          • @mr chow: so the rule is spend as much on the screen as you do on the projector?

            • @[Deactivated]: Yeah, its up to buyer. I will upgrade my projector over time but i will keep the screen. The screen is a big importance if you go down this route. However if you like buying normal tv panels, you just have to upgrade to bigger screens as technology changes and gets cheaper.

              • @mr chow: And then comes the next level of putting the centre speaker behind the screen, which needs the right screen

          • +1

@mr chow: thats a bit of a stretch

of course the image wont be as good but you can easily see 4k detail on wall, even if you don't bother painting it

            • @desync: Makes a big difference. If you can afford it, buy it. If you can't paint your wall. Make sure its dead flat wall otherwise every groove and bump is noticeable

      • I ordered this screen for my Optoma P2. Great setup:
        https://www.bargaindingo.com.au/product-page/xy-screen-pet-c…

        • Is this as cheap as you can get that is still worthwhile

    • +1

Bought this last year through Selby's deal. There is a good discussion here which might help you. I really like the idea of a projector instead of a TV but you need a dark room specially for black colors. For UST projectors you also need a special screen. The is a highly rated example

      • +1

I have been using projector on wall since 2013 …. I want a screen but cannot afford since day 1
Cheapest screen is probably to get the hisense projector, claim the screen and resell the projector

      • helpful indeed 🙏🙏

    • +1

I am using this for more than a year and surely recommend it. I project it on just the wall and still find it really good.

  • +1

Don't forget two grand or more for a screen

    • +1

      just cheap on wall

    • +1

Sand and paint the wall with few coats of semi gloss white and you have a nice wall screen

      • Doesn't work the best for UST projectors

  • I’m poor at maths.

    • +7

      that's why you need ozbargain

  • I'm sure this looks pretty good but if I was going to spend a shitload on a projector I would probably wait for true 4K DLP.

    • +4

      And spend 10k

    • the pixel shifters work great, upgraded from a 1070w to a viewsonic px728-4k, definitely worth it

      although this deal looks solid

  • Sorry not sorry to hijack but I know nothing about projectors and screens, could anyone recommend a budget projector and screen I could just whip out on occasion outside for the kids? they're not going to be fussy on colours and clarity watching sing2. Happy to spend around 1-1.5k

    • +2

budget is no screen, project on wall, check out the viewsonic M2e, under $800 is a good price and portable
$1.5K = enough budget to get a extra cheap tripod + screen

      • Thanks for that uccoffee. I have something I can mount it on so will only need the projector and screen, but ill look into that one thank you again.

      • +1

He might be able to get into an entry 4k viewsonic PX748-K for ~ $1600

        • +1

          for the kids , no 4K! :D

    • Consider trawling IT disposal auctions for an old data projector.

    • Px-748-4k and elitescreens yard master 2 with cinewhite 1.3 gain (paid 230 on the screen itself on prime day. Normal price is around 350)

  • I guess it's alrightish with the gift cards and cashback. However, it's a single laser short throw projector. If I was going to go for one I'd spend a bit more for the triple laser models but they cost quite a bit more. Then need to have a proper anti reflective screen to make the most of it. In the end I settled for OLED. Even with laser projection the pictures just don't pop like OLED.

  • +1

    Triple Laser: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-the-premiere-trip… $7695
Get the soundbar: Samsung B Series B450 300W 2.1 Channel Soundbar (2022) product page $199

    Total= $ 7894

Less JB $1000 gift card and Samsung Cashback $1200 for the triple laser

    New total: $5694.

Seems like a good bargain on the Triple Laser, for nearly $3k, i'd go for the triple laser anyday.

Keep in mind this one also needs a screen on the wall ideally but requires less distance to the wall for a good 120' projection compared to the single laser version.

    • I wish I have that budget :(

    • +1

An alternative for a Triple Laser is the Fengmi T1, its a Chinese based triple laser after considerable research and viewing the Samsung triple laser and the Hisense triple laser, its the one I went for.

      Pro's:
Its around $3500 for the Chinese version, an international version has come out as well which has android but costs more.
It has superior black levels compared to the other tri lasers
Picture is otherwise on the same level as the other ones
Picture quality could be the best of all the triple lasers once calibrated and using additional tools (based on AVSforums feedback)
Has pretty good built in sound

      Con's:
Any repairs for warranty have to go back to china, there is probably considerable cost to do so (think import duties and shipping)
Quality may vary, so it can be a bit risky.
Operating system is useless (unless its the international version) so you will need an Apple TV or Android Shield or Roku.
Compared to the Samsung, it needs to be placed further away from the screen.

Overall I thought that for $2k-$3k less than the Samsung you get something similar or better in some respects however with far greater risk, but I figured I would most likely come out ahead. So far I found it to be pretty awesome.

  • +2

So the projector will cost around $1,900?

Why don't they just drop the price to $1,900.

    • They want you to drop another K at JB

Not going to neg the deal but people should know that getting the cash back you are dealing with Samsung customer service…..

  • When says cash back from samsung do they give a Samsung gift card?

    • cash back in the form of an electronic funds transfer

  • +4

Somehow I also get the bundle offer - so final price becomes $179.10 + $3325.50 = $3504.60, before the $1000 gift card and the $800 cash back from Samsung.

    • same i also get the bundle price.

    • Did you use JBHIFI 5% gift card on top?

    • Omg I held out on the original deal but this was just too good. Not sure whether to thank you or not 😉

    • Where can I find the $1000 gift card offer on JB website?

  • And can we use the JB HiFi gift card to pay?
    Bought at a 5% discount?

  • Tempting

If planning to project at 120", loosen the purse strings and get a screen. I use a 150" projector and without a screen it was going to waste. Can be difficult to get decent screens of this size in Aus, I ended up ordering from B&H Photo Video and was able to get the right size for cheaper than smaller screens of the same type in Aus, even after shipping and taxes.

    • Which screen? What projector? Share!

      • I have an Optoma UHD52ALV with this screen:

        https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1103167-REG/elite_scr…

It's actually 180 inch, typo in my previous email.

        • how is this compared to the much more expensive CLR/ALR screens?

          • +1

@May4th: I'm very happy. It is in a dedicated theatre room with no ambient light, as soon as I turn on any light it deteriorates badly so would be a different story for a living room or such.

            • @jrance: good to know, i think if you want bright light performance in a living room the cost benefit isn't as clear if you are spending 5-6k on a projector/CLR screen combo you might as well go for a 85 or even 100inch tv and save this for the theatre room

I was looking at this deal the other day. Apparently motion blur and judder is a bit of an issue as it's only 60hz. I watch a fair bit of sport so thought it might be a bit of a issue.

  • Price ended up around $1500 for just the projector. I thinks its a steal.

    • how?

  • showing $3504.60 with 10% bundle discount. if anyone interested.

    • Same here, but I can’t tell if you would still be eligible for the $1000 gift card? If so, it’s an absolute bargain once Samsung cashback taken into account
