ZEUSLAP ZP156 Plus 15.6" FHD IPS Portable Monitor US$101.15 (~A$148.72) Delivered @ ZEUSLAP Official AliExpress

190
ZEUS7107JULY9

This previously popular deal is back on sale again and this time for a much lower price making it excellent value for a 15.6" portable monitor with USB-C and Mini HDMI for around A$150. These are great for travelling or working away from the office. I often use mine for meetings with clients, working at temporary desks and airport lounges. They're also a good option for the Nintendo Switch.

For display input there's a USB-C port and a Mini HDMI port with both a USB-C and Mini HDMI to HDMI cable included. It has 15.6" 1920x1080 IPS display with a 60Hz refresh rate, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 220cd/m² brightness, HDR, dual speakers and has a 3.5mm audio jack. It can be powered via the second USB-C port with Power Delivery or via the Micro USB port.

Downsides are that this isn't as bright as other monitors and the colours might not be as good either. Given the low price this is to be expected. Perhaps someone who purchased from the previous deal can share some pics?

          • @Clear: Thanks mate. Yeah I did apply that to get to the usd $19 discount.. I must be doing something wrong on my end. Cheers for the help.

            • @pw2002au: Make sure you click on Get coupons as you can collect a US$10 off US$100 seller coupon that'll apply at checkout.

              • @Clear: Did that as well. But that totals 19usd off the original price of 119usd. It then still wants to add the gst of 10.91 to the total to get to $111.05.

  • How reliable are these monitors? I'm guessing it would be quite difficult to ship this item back to the supplier?

    • PayPal offer refunded returns which may be enough to cover it if you had to send it back. AliExpress dispute process is usually quite good assuming you're not a brand new account with no orders (Ali can see it as you trying to fraud them) and if you don't open a PayPal dispute during their investigation.

AliExpress was a nightmare for me. Didn’t get my stuff didn’t get refunded. Stick with eBay or Amazon. AliExpress is always cheaper but I’ve struck out a few times now. Ymmv.

  • This one is a tad more expensive but much better with UHD 4K, FreeSync and 500 nits

    • Missing link?

    • Any idea if it's actually 500nits? Seems very bright for this style monitor. Great if true though

      • I guess it is if they say it is.. how would you measure nits, is there software for that

  • Do you get any screen bleed on these? I bought a uperfect monitor. There's slight bleeding down the bottom. Noticeable on black screens. Not too fussed as I won't really use for gaming.

    • I've been thinking about getting a uperfect monitor. Other than the usual IPS light bleed, do you rate it?

      • Honestly, for work, it's pretty good. Usually just spreadsheets. I connected a Nintendo switch and it wasn't too bad, except do the blacks. Not a big issue. Great for work.

It was $220 on ebay for the 15". Offered less and settled on $210. There was a $5 ebay code as well. I reached out to the seller after noticing the light bleed and got the usual, we don't make much profit blah blah and if I wanted to keep it, they'll refund me $20. $185 all up, can't complain.

In general with a portable monitor: The best thing for me is that I was able to remove my 24" dell monitor and desk mount. I was hardly needing a second monitor for work and the space it took up, wasn't worth it. I can pack this monitor away and take it out on the days I know I need it.

  • I bought this and was really surprised at how light it is. I saw a picture of the connections points that look hand milled and was again surprised that it looked better made than that. The screen has touch capability which I want expecting.

Can't comment on light bleed as my use is just a second screen for productivity. The refresh rate is pretty low even then so I personally wouldn't expect much for gaming.

    • Any comment on the quality of the touch aspect?

      • Don't really use it. It works based off a few touches? If you have a specific request to test, I'm happy to look at that and report back.

The unit needs power by USB C, output by mini-HDMI, and a third output for touch screen by USB C. If you don't use touch, you can just use the first two, otherwise you need three cables.

  • Spewing I missed this. Have a work trip coming up and am dreading leaving my dual screen setup to instead be stuck on a 14" laptop screen.
