You could just use the report button 📢 and ask for a product tag. It'll be the quickest and easiest method.
I'm so sorry, I was literally about to hit unpublish when you replied. Clearly I cannot read.
Maybe there should be a notice somewhere telling people that they can message a mod to add a tag, then people might start adding useful tags.
@AustriaBargain: Good idea - but not message a mod as that will overload a single mod but to report as per moderator's message above.

@avoidfullprice: I think it's a valid idea. In the "Related tags" box the current product tags are listed so there could be a greyed out one with the rectangle containing "suggest a new product tag"
Only issue is I don't think the box shows in mobile web view and that's a large proportion of the site.

It's not possible for users to create product tags, you'll need to let us know, either via reports or TWAM.
I've added the product tag now that you can set an alert for.
