    Very original design.
    Almost like my comment.

    • +9

I normally look at the photos of the deal first, I thought, wow, new AirPods Pro…. oh well, it is not. :(

      • wow its amazing how much of copy cat item this is it almost looks like a airpod pros. But Chinese companies seems to get away with this.

    • +5

      No shame design…

      • Why have shame, when you can have profit? XD

    • I think they do look similar to Apple from this angle, but the shafts are actually quite different. It's a different appearance completely once you wear them, so this is not the worse 'original' design 😂

      • +2

They are a very different design. I bought a pair from vchain through Dicksmith (cost me around $100 using giftcards). They feel different to AirPods Pro, but nearly as good for an iPhone owner. There is the iPhone app that lets you update firmware and change settings too. Love mine (I gave my AirPods Pro to my child, as these are as good as AirPods in terms of quality, but there is no spatial audio).

        • +1

id say even better audio quality i have tested both AirPods pros and these IMO they have a better overall soundstage not that pop bass like the AirPods thease have a nice doof punch and smooth roll-off

    • That's Huawei's MO with most of their products.

  • These or the LG Tone Free FP9A 🤔 - I note that the Freebuds don't have IPX certification, but that is something Huawei rarely bothers with getting..

  • +18

Bought these two months ago for around $160 and very happy
    - solid bass
    - decent battery life
    - Bluetooth multipoint! Connect to two devices at the same time and switch automatically
    - good fit for me (ear tips are oval shaped not circular)
    - ANC and transparency modes

Only slight downside is lack of official water resistant rating

    • +2

i had mine go through the washing machine once i let em dry out for 3 months as i was worried they work perfect still same battery life too that's a good sign

      • Wow that's a long drying out time but can't believe they still work!

        • +1

yeah i know I left them to dry this long as i researched they had no waterproof rating, didn't want the battery to explode in my ear ( this could happen lithium ios very delicate) also on top of this oi played them 12 hours out of the case on my table to drain them and wear them in after this but they survived this was about 1-1.5 years ago ( i bought them in 2019 half -2020 before official release) THEY STILL WORK PERFECT

      • +1

3 months? Why not the whole year to be sure lol

  • +31
    • I hope they would have fixed it. Thats crazy

    • +5

Well, you've solved my conundrum. Tone Free FP9A it is!

    • +14

A big wow for this! I thought it was just me.
I actually posted a deal many months back when I purchased a pair of these. All the features are great and sound is totally adequate buuuut - my ear would leak crap out of it with only a very quick use of it. I'd disinfect them and still get bad reactions. Flat out don't buy these ear phones.
Plus the app you need to use is not supported on Google Play. You need to visit a Huawei site to download. 😬

      • +2

I just avoid putting anything in my ears, it's bag enough risk of infection nevermind allergic reaction

        • This is why I was looking at the LG Tone Free FP9A over these, them costing an extra $60 on sale(special) was making me ponder if it would be worth it. They come with an inbuilt UV light that disinfects them while they charge, so if you're worried about infection, these might also be something you might be interested in.

Doesn't look like anyone has specifically posted them being on sale atm, so here:

          • @lulzenberg: I mean like the airpods 2nd gen are not in the ear canal whereas all the ANC types are in the ear canal like an ear plug.

            • @reactor-au: ah yeah, fair. I'm a bit funny about putting things in my ears too, so the disinfecting function was a + to me, but obviously, not having anything in them at all would be preferable haha.

      • Whoah, like one of the commenters, I dropped my earphones on the ground while mowing the lawn, brushed it off and put it back in my ears. Since then I've got problems with earphones.

    • +1

      Thanks for the heads up!

    • +1

Interesting. Didn't know nickel allergy was a thing. Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro had this issue too.

    • do you guys try to fear monger everyone with obscure threads?

      • -1

Everyone has different reactions to Silicone.
Silicone comes in different grades, and are mostly made in China.
Making medical grade Silicone is not cheap because of the shitty pollution over there.
        Expect Huawei to cut corners.

        • you think apple products arent also manufactured in China?

          lol

          • +1

@Freestyle: Exactly. Just like maxdba posted below

            https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250896003

          • -1

@Freestyle: I didn't think that. I'm just explaining why that obscure thread exists and why people might post it.

Maybe if you passed elementary school English comprehension you would be able to see that I didn't imply, insinuate or suggest anywhere that Huawei products < Apple products.

Where did I make the comparison between Apple and Huawei? Oh that's right. Nowhere.
You can't read for shit lol

Blocks out 99% of Western world media.

    • +1

a cheaper option would be just to shut your eyes and plug your ears.

  • They are not free but I’m free of money when buying these!

Just wanna throw my experience out there with these, I own the airpods pro, galaxy buds pro and these freebuds pro. Have been using all of them for roughly a month or so.
Fit: All 3 fit me extremely well no issues at all, freebuds pro fit similarly to airpods pro
Sound quality: All 3 are very very good, My ranking would be 1st: Galaxy buds pro, 2nd: Airpods pro, 3rd: Freebuds pro. But the differences are very minimal
Noise cancelling: Same as before all 3 are extremely good, minimal differences. Rankings would be 1st: Airpods pro, 2nd: Galaxy buds pro/Freebuds pro Tied.
Ambient: Airpods pros come out on top, the ambient mode sound the closest to real world sound. Freebuds pro are second, still very good and lastly galaxy buds pro, still very good on galaxy buds pros but they sound a little more processed than the other two
Controls: Galaxy buds pros uses the traditional tap which I like more than the squeeze and works a little better. Freebuds pros and Airpods pros are both using the Squeeze still responsive and both well done, except I would put Freebuds pros ahead of the airpods pros for controls because it can control volume by sliding on either earbuds, works pretty accurately too!
App/Software: Airpods pros fall short on this regard with very minimal customisation with no app. Galaxy buds pros have the wearables app which works on Android perfectly, software is clean and easy to customise. Freebuds pros also have their software called "AI Life" which can be downloaded on the Google play store, works on all android phones. The app is clean and has great customisation too!

    • thanks for sharing - any thougths on mic quality for calls / battery life?

      • +3

Call quality is honestly so similar on all 3, I can't really tell which one is better, all super great. Battery life is best on freebuds pro by quite a bit able to use them for a week and a half without charging the case, galaxy buds pro and airpods pro are both pretty similar both last me about a week or so without charging the case.

        • Not sure if I always seem to call in very noisy environment but I am almost never able to use either of the Airpods Pro or Freebuds Pro to call/answer phone calls, the other line always says that they can’t hear me.
Otherwise I agree with the sound quality + ANC as you said. I value ANC the most in all the features so after going through a whole bunch of earphones (inc Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro, Galaxy Livebuds, Soundpeats Mini Pro), I came back to Apple despite the sound quality being not as nice but the fit and ANC are the best for me

          • @Om Nom: Same here. I wish Apple would release a new AirPods Pro. It’s time.

  • -7

If you can afford apple AirPods or Pro. Then do not buy this rubbish brand. I had the first generation of freebuds, battery naturally die in 1 year. It cannot hold the recharged. I also have the first generation of AirPods, battery still going good after 4 years. I am not a heavy user, only use couple times a week.

    • +12

Personally I have had no issues with Huawei products and the line of earbuds. I used the freebuds 3 for about half a year and had no issues, same with these freebuds pros. Maybe you received a faulty copy as I never had battery issues with these earbuds. If you use apple devices I would definitely recommend the airpods pros over these, but I can't seem to see why you would choose the regular airpods over these when they cost about the same but you get ANC, better battery life and better sound quality with the freebuds pros. Also would recommend freebuds pros over airpods pros if you use android as apples support for android devices is literally non-existent.

    • Heaps of other alternatives aside from either brann

  • Bought one from this deal, works great with my Samsung phone.

  • +1

Waiting for Freebuds Pro 2 to land on these shores

    • I bought both of them from Prime Day before, feels like the sound quality (for my dud ears) is not worth the price difference, but I find the touch control on 4i very annoying. Hung up phone calls by accident a couple of times when I try to readjust them when they’re about to fall out.
The Pro is better in that regard, but they are serious soooooo slippery, almost a struggle to get them out of the case every time.

      • I bought 4i only and found same issue on touch control, always cut off my wife's call by accidentally touching.

        • +2

Only your wife's call?? Then I guess it's not an accident … ;)

      • +2

Yep many others have this issue to get them out of the case because the magnets holding the earbuds down are quite strong. I heard that you should push the earbuds back while taking them out, they are way easier to take out this way!

        • Oh lollllll that must've been the case! I never thought about pushing them in! I returned them mainly for that reason that I could not get them out without huge struggle with my giant fingers. But also they're still quite slippery when I have them on my fingers, dropped a couple of times around trains/trams so probably not the best for my use anyway.
I do like the sliding touch for sound control, that's what's missing on AirPods.

  • Got $150 credit from Google as I had bought the pixel 6.. wondering if it's worth using that credit and buying pixel buds pro ($299- pre order)

    • +2

Na, wait for prices to go down a bit

      • +1

Agree, I think there will be a sale fairly soon after this pre-order period…

  • -5

You’d have to be a tool to buy this, read the comments people, just save up a little longer.

  • +3

I bought my freebuds pro a few months ago at $169 and absolutely loved it.

  • Yes, but does it come with google play services?

  • -6

Can you hear the Communist Party spying on you?

  • +1

Shouldn't these be $0 if they are free, false advertising

  • +1
