It is convenient that the 2 Ports Bi-direction switch provides 2 ways to use it. In switch mode (2 input 1 output), it allows two HDMI sources to one HDMI display. In splitter mode (1 input 2 output), two monitors can be connected, but only one of them has a picture, and cannot be displayed at the same time.
When using HDMI 2.0 standard cable, and at the resolution of 4K@60Hz the transmission distance of the bi-directional switch is up to 4.9ft(1.5m) + 4.9ft(1.5m) end-to-end.

Support 4K@60hz SDR RGB 4:4:4 and backward compatible with 4K@30Hz, 1080P, also supports HDMI 2.0, HDCP2.2/1.4, HDR10 (4:2:2 & 4:2:0), 3D, CEC, 18Gbps video bandwidth and ARC (Note: only Port 2 supports ARC function)

    I have this exact model

Works 95% of the time but sometimes glitchy and doesn't pick up that there is a second monitor plugged in.

Because it is a manual switch, it does not have the function of automatically detecting the access to the display, and can only be identified by manual switching.

Mate im not an idiot - i know there is a manual switch. I am saying that it doesnt work sometimes but is fine 95% of the time.

I can spam the manual switch over and over and it will never switch to the second HDMI that is plugged in. Likely I got a defective product but providing a fair review regardless

        • Usually, switching too quickly can also cause problems with identifying the EDID of the TV. If the product has an issue, you can get a quick helpful response from PORTTA. Thank you for sharing your product experience.

I have 2 of the portta 2x1 4k 60 switchers in this listing, they have been flawless.

I have an NVIDIA shield + Nintendo switch to a Samsung soundbar to my Hisense tv + BenQ projector. This could have been avoided if I realised the soundbar only had 1 HDMI in and 1 HDMI out when I bought it. 😂

Is UGREEN HDMI Switch better? Costs bit extra.

    • Haven't used that product but UGREEN sells quality stuff. Have their lan cables, phone holders. USB C and lighting cables. Quality are generally good.

    • As far as I know, PORTTA has an owner factory, it can provide high-quality and affordable audio/video products. This 2 Ports HDMI switch offers a promotion from 25-07-2022—31-07-22. You can give PORTTA a chance and use their product.

  • Is there such a product that has this functionality and also USB sharing?

    • No, most products are HDMI audio/video products.

  • I'm a bit confused, the listing says one in two out. I want to switch audio from the TV between a soundbar (for gen TV viewing) and a surround amp (for the bangs and crashes in movies) one connected at a time. It must do at least Dolby plus audio from the TV's HDMI eARC. I currently have to manually switch HDMI leads behind the TV to do this.

Yet the description above suggests this "only Port 2 supports ARC function". Which seems to contradict "one in two out.". I wonder which is it and will it do what I need it to?

If a TV as input source and a soundbar or AMP is used as output, this product does not meet your needs. You may need HDMI eARC products.

This kind of ARC function from this 2 ports HDMI switcher is the player connected to the power amplifier and then this switcher to the TV ARC channel. At this time, the TV can return 5.1CH audio to the power amplifier through the product ARC channel. All in all, if you want to achieve the ARC function of this switcher, the soundbar is the input source, and the output is an ARC TV.
