    defrags disks

    Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

When was that written? 1999? Defragging hasn't been a thing since NTFS came along in 2000, and Internet Explorer was replaced with Edge in 2015.

IE was a very poorly made and incredibly insecure PoS.

Chrome tracks you (as does most commercial websites you visit) for the purposes of building profiles for ad networks. But it at least does it's job in a fairly secure way, and pushed along the state of browser standards considerably.

Saying that, from a security and privacy perspective I would absolutely recommend using Firefox.

Using Netscape Navigator connected to CompuServe rocking Windows 3.11 for networks. The Internet looks all good on my newly acquired non interlaced 14" VGA monitor.

        Thanks for the tip.

I am showing my age here, but I believe that I did actually use Mosaic originally before Netscape.

A bit more searching on this makes it look even more sketch. Made by a Chinese company trying to capitalise on the name of an unrelated product, Wise Installer.

And there's many reports of people finding this program installed by adware and malware. They would only do that if paid by the makers of this program, which goes to show how much you could trust them. And they'd only be interested in getting their free program installed if they had also bundled some spyware in it or some other way to profit.

Steer clear and stick to tried and tested utilities (and you don't need as many as you think you do).

    • I never claim free software for this reason. Dodgy as always

    • Just like Adobe Reader tries REALLY hard to install McAfee…. F#@&ing bas+@&#s

      • Adobe Reader was the worst thing to happen to computer security outside of Microsoft

        • Adobe Flash can get thrown in there as well

  • Sounds like useless bloatware

free crap you dont need that is vague about what it apparently does, fantastic
