  • DW153?

    • DTD153Z

    • Just checked, mine is DW153, bought in a set of 4 tools 2 5ah bats and charger with extra batt by redemption for $953 late last year

      • just US and EU naming diff, same unit.
have like 7 or 8 on my site, shed builder, tek screw day in and day out. they only last about a year before they went smoking. i guess they are only good for small fasteners.

  • Great price but how long normally delivered from UK ?

    • +1

Never ordered something like this, but previous orders from Amazon UK have taken anywhere from 1 week to 3 weeks for me in Adelaide. Seems to usually be closer to 2 weeks.

i bought some stuff from UK earlier this year and took 10 days

    • The last 3 things I've bought from Amazon UK were delivered within 8-10 days (depending on delivery day of week in Aus). Generally they're here within 3 days, the rest is getting it from your capital city to you! 🤦‍♂️

I have a slightly older model, and I use it more than any other tool in my weekend warrior kit. Once you get an impact driver, you will never drive a screw with a drill again. Great price.

    • yeah, would like the 154Z …. has 3 torque controls settings to stop snapping thin screws …..

  • what batteries do I get

    • Looks like Makita DC18RD 18V Lithium-Ion Dual Port Rapid Optimum Charger which makes price more than double?
Could be wrong about this, am sure someone will let me know.

      • It'll take any of the 18V LXT batteries. I've run my impact off a 1.5ah battery all the way up to a 6ah. The DC18RD is a dual battery rapid charger, you only need a DC18SD to charge, generally on sale for $60.

If you don't have batteries, or a charger, get a kit. It's much cheaper. Such tool only deals only make sense for those who are already invested in Makita ecosystem.

  • I'm pretty sure Amazon have their own warranty returns policy if buying from overseas. No need for manufacture warranty

Bought 2 6tb WD server drives that had a model fault, Amazon didn't help.

No matter what they say, as part of ACCC and The Australian Trade agreement they are legally bound to honor the warranty or refund.

This has happened to a few people i know and the moment you forward them the information and remind them they are breaching it - they will honor it.
