Great price for this mop, you can get it from Godfreys, Godfreys eBay, MyDeal and Kogan.

Note : You can most likely score a discount code off Ebay and Mydeal, like $10, not sure how to put it in the title. Theres also cashback to consider so YMMV upon which one is cheapest for you.

It might be eligible for one of those ebay plus codes, but as I dont have ebay plus I cant check.

  • Better deal @ ebay if you can get shopback ebay voucher

An even better deal via Amazon US is the much improved Tineco S5, if you have Prime. It's AUS$615 including delivery. The S5 is not currently available in Australia. Godfreys sell the more expensive S5Pro for AUS$999 but not the S5. The Pro is identical to the S5 except for a better LCD display and a slightly-better suction mode (the S5 has a normal and Max suction mode while the S5Pro adds an Ultra mode - same battery though, so more drainage and consumer reports say "meh."). I have owned the S3 and the S5, and the S5 is a major step up in performance, despite its annoying robotic voice (yes, it talks to you like GLaDOS in Portal). The only extra cost for this deal is a US-to-AUS power adaptor (around $10 from Jaycar or elsewhere). https://www.amazon.com/Tineco-Cordless-Cleaner-Digital-Space…

    • Where did you get AUD 615 from? It is showing USD419 + USD108 shipping.

      • Sorry, I didn't notice that. I bought it a few months back and shipping was included for Prime members.

    • you didn't include shipping in your price.

  • Thanks for the heads up - this is the third reduction since I bought one last October. Thank goodness for credit card price protection!

  • how does this compare to Karcher mop?

    • apparently better, i cant remember the details but i think the karcher is somewhat disappointing, i have this one and i am pretty happy with it. once on the base it has an autocleaning mode, the water tank isnt too small

  • I bought S5 from amazon on prime day for $479. Also it has an Australian plug and work on 240V. Now showing as unavailable on website.

      Thats the wired steam mop…

    • I would go for that too as I much prefer corded with no worry of battery running out & efficiency

      • +1

There's no way I'd want a cord on one of these. Ours does the whole house (tiled areas) and has around 50% battery left at the end. A cord would drag through the wet areas and I'd have to move the cord to different sockets about 4 times.

        • hmm, might take that into account -thanks

      • I have the s3 and it would be a massive hindrance having to plug it in for each room. I've got a double story house (mostly floors) and I can easily finish with at least 50% battery left

  • Has anyone got any thoughts on this vs the Bissell Crosswave max? I was about to pull the trigger on the Bissell and suddenly this appears!

    • +1

Read somewhere says that the tineco is much quieter than Bissell

    • +1

I was jsut comparing Bissell Crosswave, it uses two tank system but doesn't have steam function I guess, but otherwise I htink its well respected product

    • +1

We compared both in-store at Godfreys. For us, the Tineco was superior. Just felt more well put together and is self-propelled which is nice (the Bissell isn't self-propelled). I suggest go in-store and try for yourself!

  • Also I think I would go for corded version to make sure I can do the whole house without loosing power & efficiency

    • You won't lose efficiency and you won't lose power either unless you have a house the size of a mansion.

    • Battery last ages. We have a 4*2 with laminated flooring throughout and the battery goes down to around 50% by the time we finish. Plenty of charge for even bigger house.

  • How good are these for cleaning tiles? I'm assuming it's not gonna replace the weekly mopping with lots of elbow grease. Can these take of stubborn stuff stuck on the tiles?

    • Yes I'm also curious as we have tiled floors (all living, kitchen, corridords, laundry) would love to get this if it replaces the vacuuming -> mopping -> taking out sticy stuff with paper towel, sugar soap & somtimes WD-40 & then vacuuming again to pick up the deris after mop
      @AdrianW please share your expereince

    • & btw I'm also looking for pratical solution of cleaning the grout, will steam function clear that too?

The ebay code TOPITUP gives an additional 8% off

    • Dammit, I should've waited for comments like this.

Have the Tineco S5 Pro but haven't owned the S3 or the Bissell or Hizero (all of these were options I considered) so I can't compare exactly in terms of what it does better etc however did lots of research and read actual experience from other owns on the "Mums who clean" Facebook group. I bought mine from Godfreys eBay (using 10% off code and 10% off gift cards for discount stacking) and have the tax invoice from them for any issues.

Just my observations and thoughts since getting the S5. My place is tiles for downstairs and floorboards upstairs, not an overly large place either. I used to separately vacuum (with my trusty Dyson V6) and then the Vileda mop (note I am a bit of a clean freak and like to scrub, rinse my mop after each 2mx2m area and change the bucket water multiple times vs my partner who just swishes it over the surface once or twice and might only change the bucket water once). This would easily take me 15 mins to vacuum and then 1-1.5 hours to properly mop (20 mins if you're like my partner). We typically use hot water, hot water + vinegar or hot water + pine o cleen depending how the floor feels. We also have 2 young kids under 5 who make quite a mess. The water on the tiles would take about an hour to dry off with all the windows open and running the fan or more even with having squeezed the mop as dry as possible.

With the S5, I can vacuum and mop at the same time the entire downstairs area in 20-25 minutes plus 5 mins to clean the vacuum (I do spot cleans with my Dyson throughout the time between mopping and if the floor is extra dirty with lots of food bits, I do go through it with a Dyson first before the S5 but it's not necessary as I've used it before without vacuuming first). I go a bit slower than the Dyson vacuum and also change the tank water over (note: I like to use the Max function the entire time as it seems to flush the water through more for added cleanliness and so I'll change the tank about 3-4 times depending how much I go over areas. I have also done the area using the automatic function which I only had the change the tank/top up once). I love that the clean and dirty water tanks are separate and there's a filter at the top for the dust and a little separation lip to hold back the hair/chunky bits from the water. It's not compartment so some will likely still fall in the water but I tip it down the toilet rather than the sink so have no issues with flushing it all down and worrying about clogged pipes. The battery easily lasts the entire time for the downstairs and I'll usually go back over the most used areas e.g. kitchen to use up the remaining battery. On automatic, I could probably easily mop 2-2.5x my downstairs area on one charge. The floor feels cleaner than anything I've done with a mop (even with my extensive scrubbing) and is dry within 5 mins of going over that area.

Highly recommend checking out the cleaning video on youtube - it's pretty accurate for the process to check that it's something you can commit to doing. I don't find it particularly difficult or cumbersome and am happy to spend the 5 mins cleaning it considering the amount of time I've saved in the vacuum/mop process. It also doesn't smell or anything although I clean my machine immediately after use. The roller itself I don't wash, I only allow the machine's cleaning cycle to do it's thing and then place it in the holder to dry.

    Other cool features/positives:
    1. Machine is self propelled so although it can be a bit heavy if you carry it, the function actually makes it feel quite light weight on your arm and wrist.
    2. Self cleaning cycle - this is mainly to clean the mop roller head rather than the whole machine but I've tried washing it afterwards and it wasn't really dirty (so the cleaning function works!) and didn't need it so I've stopped doing it. I use the drying rack it comes with to dry it each time after use and I've smelt it and there's no yucky smells or mouldy weird smells
    3. Cleaning liquid actually works - I haven't tried anything else other than the liquid it comes with as it apparently voids warranty but I would happily go and buy the liquid it comes with again. You only need a cap full (I actually use half or less as I churn over my water tank 3-4 times so I try to split it up). It makes the floor dry super quick and it doesn't really smell which is fantastic. I've also mopped with just water and it works well too.
    4. The floor isn't wet - I used to only mop when the kids went to bed as they would walk on the wet tiles and was worried they would slip. Now with this I can mop during the day and just get them to sit on the couch and the areas that they play on dry within 5 mins (which coincides with the amount of time they can sit still with a snack or a youtube video). That leaves more time at night for me!

Now the downsides as these are things you should take into consideration:
    1. Battery life - it's not the longest battery but if you're using automatic mode (which is what they recommend and is probably sufficient, I'm just picky!) this could easily cover a 5 bedroom two storey house doing both floors on the one charge.
    2. Dirty water tank and clean water tank size - it's not huge but at least it's super easy to pour out the dirty tank and refill the clean tank. The machine has wheels on the back so I just tilt it and roll it to the wash room each time and then roll it back out which can be annoying for those who prefer to not have to go back and forth. If the tanks were bigger the machine would be heavier and maybe would get too bulky for some people to manoeuvre so I can understand that.
    3. Clean up process - yes the machine has a self clean function but it still needs other cleaning - you need to empty the clean water tank, pour our the dirty water tank and clean that including the filter and clean the mop cover and wipe down the cleaning tray that the mop sits on. All of this is a rinse and light scrub with the included brush so takes me about 5 mins all up and is so small compared to my other time savings so I find it acceptable.
    4. Size of the mop and the corners - due to the size of the mop, the tank can get in the way if you're trying to get under things that perhaps you could reach before with a mop. It doesn't bother me as I can reach all of the areas I want in a different angle/way but this might bother some people. Also only one side of the roller can mop ALMOST to the edge of the skirting board/corners but still might leave a tiny gap. The other side leaves a much bigger width of unmopped area as that's the side the roller clip sits on. I counter this with making sure I take the right hand side of the mop to each side but this is a bit of "extra" work to make sure all the edges are done properly.
    5. Price tag - it's pricey but no different to the latest Dysons or many name brand smart phones etc. Given what it can do and the time/effort saving, for me it's been worth it. I had contemplated hiring a cleaner to help with the workload and they were charging at least $100-150 each fortnight clean and this was one of the bigger tasks that would have taken up at least half the cleaning time so every time I use this, I think of the "saving" I've made not hiring a cleaner (yes I know I still need to clean other things that they would have done also but i can put the saved time/energy to those other tasks).

Overall for me it's been a great purchase even with the price tag (although my partner still baulks at the price tag). It has cut down my cleaning time significantly and the effort to push around a self propelled machine vs hard scrubbing has probably given me 500 calories back each week. I literally look forward to using it at least weekly (would happily mop more often if I felt like I needed to), compared to the mopping that I used to dread doing and would put off constantly. I love pouring the dirty water down the toilet and I note that the amount of dirty water has reduced significantly since using it.

Hope that helps someone who is contemplating one of these.

    • Thank you for your detailed experience and product review.

    • Wow, that was kind of the review I Was looking for, thanks alot

    • Can you (or anyone) please comment on if these clean the grout out much at all in the long term? Thanks :)

      • +1

I have the S5 corded steam version. It will clean on lightly dirty grout, but will not do much on the grout that are too much soiled/ dirt

  • S3 has around 2.5cm gap from roller to edge, so you can't get right up to the skirting, not a massive deal, as it's the least dirty part of a floor, and a quick vac does the job.

S5 has the roller to the one edge to fix this issue.

I don't think that feature is worth $400.

We have the S3 and 2 Robo vacs. We treat the S3 as a mop, 1st and foremost. It does both, but combined with a robo vac, cleaning is super fast now.
