Geez have people really paid $349 for these?

      • Not sure but it’s heavy as hell. 34kg

    • lol what happened to stacking up logs on the side or in a shed, why on earth would someone use this

For a small amount of wood indoors, usually beside the fireplace which saves having to go out into, last night for instance, -2C weather to get a couple of logs to keep the fire going.

It keeps them dry and keeps drying them out if they're by the fire so they light quicker with less smoke.

I guess if you don't rely on that kind of heating it seems silly.

Having said all that, this circle takes up more space than a square, or better yet an upright rectangle and doesn't hold enough dead tree carcass to be useful for a dedicated wood fire heated home. It's for those who occasionally light a fire and want a fancy fashion accessory.

        • oh we just stack it up next to the fireplace, once that is full the rest goes outside in the shed

          • @michael9865: That works, but you don't have a mess on the floor and it doesn't damage the flooring?

            • @[Deactivated]: yep, that's why you put cloth underneath the wood where all the debris can stay and cleaned easily and doesn't damage anything

Doesn't look like 750 logs would fit inside there to me.

  • My husband is going to be anti this for taking up freezer space when not in use. But great deal! Maybe also good for sunburn with that large surface area.

Say it’s a backup for the freezer incase there is blackout. :)

      • I like this!

Hubby sounds cheaper than a 78 cent gel pack :p

      • lol - hubby is on ozB too. And fortunately or unfortunately we’re both cheaper than a 78 cent gel pack. Our fridge/freezer combo and isn’t that big. We’d need to remodel to the kitchen for a bigger one and that’s ++$
        😂

    • Actually you want to pack your freezer full. Air is terribly inefficient to cool - filling up the space is actually a good thing!

      • +1

It is actually pretty full most of the time.so much so we often struggle rummaging through to find what we want. Probably also an organisation issue.

These ice packs are great till they eventually get pierced by something sharp. I saw some marked down and still walked past them.
I've long since given up soft ice packs. I will happily make my own ice blocks up or use smaller sealed ice bricks.
The only time I could see them been useful is to permanently keep in the freezer and pull out for injuries where they will conform to the body and they won't get broken resting on an ankle.

    • Agree with you. My use case is storing constantly in the freezer and use it to wrap a bottle on the way to a picnic.

  • Gonna buy a couple of these as heat packs. Dr Google says these hold heat as well as cold.

Gel packs now 60c in Burleigh. On clearance trolley at the front.
