Honestly had no idea they were in Australia, thought they were just american

      You haven't missed anything

Went to a brand new store in Melbourne hoping for something new to shake up the Australian market, but it was like the store was already 15 years in and everyone had lost any motivation to produce something even remotely similar to their advertising. The burger tasted exactly like a HJ burger and it was just a squashed sad mess compared with their promo photos. Didn't like the skin-on fries either.

    • great take, can imagine this

    • This is what I thought when I went in the US a few years ago, sad to hear its the same here

Agree. And with so many burger places that actually make burgers from scratch and to a higher quality for literally not much more, I hate all these chains with frozen, processed ingredients.

    • Definitely does taste just like HJ

      • Beef patties come from the same supplier.

        • makes sense

    • Yep! I don't get how their star cheese tastes identical to a whopper!!

  • I have to agree the quality has declined, was a huge fan when it first opened in SA at Kilburn.
I assume run more like a franchise with profit margins to make, compared to when it opened as they were halo stores.

  • For some reason the burgers are always lukewarm. Every single time.

What we really need is Outback Steakhouse. MMM-mmm cant wait to get me some of that outback steakhouse.

    • we have there here. There is one at Pac Fair shopping centre on the Gold Coast.

      • There is one at Pac Fair shopping centre on the Gold Coast

Are they as "nothing … really" as they are/were in the USA?

I still remember my astonishment with their "Australian" blooming onion at Anaheim … WOT? …

        • I've never actually been there because I can pretty much imagine it will be exactly the same as TGIFs and shit like that where it's just whatever they can put in a deep fryer they serve.

20% of the time the burgers there are amazing. 80% of the time they are cold and squashed. But I keep going. The gamble keeps it interesting.

Agreed. For $3 the double cheeseburger is hard to beat regardless. Every so often you get lucky and the burgers are great.

  • I just go there for the chilli cheese fries which are decent.

  • Does any one else has issues with installing the app?
Gets "This item isn't available in your country"

    • Maybe you need to bring your chopper down from the skies first?

  • Like most of these takeaway joints, only worth paying for the specials - regular buying at the normal prices you'd need to sell your car..or mortgage the house..

  • Do they let you use multiple of the Mon - Wed offers at once or is it only one per day or transaction?

    • They let me get both the shake and chilli fries in the same transaction for anyone interested. I wasn't able to get the new flavour shake for $4 though :(

    • From experience you can order one of each only, but YMMV.

  • Shakes are probably the best thing they have going. So can I only get 1 shake per person or per transaction? It doesn't say what the limit is.

  • I go for the waffle fries and milkshakes, everything else is overpriced and kinda meh.

  • ok… taste seems better than others to me. Complained about coldness and make up meal was also lukewarm. Hundreds of these complaints online, but they won't change. Think it's to do with a 30 sec cook time standard. I take mine home and either microwave or airfry.
