  • +2

    Compare these to Cadbury?

    • +44

Don't compare the two - Whittakers is a much better product.

    • +11

      How dare you?

      Cadbury = bogan chocolate

      • yeah this is very fancy and special

    • +8

definitely get a peanut slab on your next market run

      • +1

I second this. It’ll change your world

    • +8

No comparison. Cadbury have been changing their recipes over the years so have been off them for more than a decade. It doesn’t even taste like milk chocolate. Every time I try then just for old times sake, I am disappointed

Whittakers is my go to. Definitely give it a go.

    • +3

Cadbury is barely chocolate compared to Whittaker's.
      Nestle is even worse.

  • +5

These chocolate bars are heavenly ! Im a big Cadbury fan…but since trying this I havent looked back ! Sooooo good

  • +4

    Dark Almond

  • +8

They need to bring that Bundaburg Ginger variant back. That was fire.

    • +1

sent a few to my Brazillian friend and they said it was the best of all the flavours.

Now they want more NZ Chocs.

  • Definitely stocking up!

    Coconut!

      • +8

You have rocks in your head.

            @tharlow:

Whittaker’s popularity is limited to a small part of the southern hemisphere

That's where we live and enjoy our Whittaker's.

              • +8

@tharlow: Why ignorance? You assume that people haven't tried European chocolate.

      • +2

Some european chocolate is fantastic, no doubt. Among the best. But not all. Plenty of crap out of Europe exists too. And both are beside the point, whittakers Make some good flavours.

    • try the peanut butter flavour

    • +1

My mother used to swear by Aldi chocolate, and we used to buy it a plenty. Then I discovered Whittakers and have not looked back. As far as I am concerned, Whittakers is far superior.

    • +1

Whittakers is definitely better than the Aldi one, but it's also twice as expensive when not on sale. The Aldi one is pretty awesome though and a go-to for me.

  • +5

    I have an important question.

Is your avatar inspired by the TeamViewer logo?

    • +1

I was thinking the exact same

    • +1

Only ozbargainers asking the real questions.

    • No. Any resemblance is purely coincidental.

  • +3

I miss the Whittaker’s cashew nut block…was perfect

    • -5

That’s why the product had to be withdrawn — it wouldn’t stay on the shelves, and was a constant waste of shelf space as a consequence. Maybe if they had devoted an entire aisle to it, the end result might have been different…

      • +8

did Whittakers touch you as a child?

        • +1

Went pretty quick from disliking chocolate to child rape jokes

          • @Big Sexy Unit: That’s just one reason why the OzBargain community is so versatile

  • +1

Never tried Whittaker’s before, which ones are the best?

    • +4

You can get coconut and peanut ones in the smaller packaging that are often on sale for $1 at Woolies if you don’t want to commit to the full bar. I enjoy coconut, it’s pretty good!

      • +2

They are half price $1 at Woolworths until the end of today in fact.

    • +4

Coconut, if you like coconut. Otherwise Black Forrest

      • +1

Where do they sell Black Forrest? I have been on the lookout for that flavour, but can never find it.

Edit: Looks like it is a Coles thing. Going to have to go to Coles.

    • Dark Almond

    • My favs are the Milk choc caramel, Peanut butter, and coconut.

    • +1

I only go for coconut, don't enjoy the other ones. But love the coconut one.

  • +6

Stop it. I’m trying to lose some Covid kilos.

  • +2

Hazelnut or we can't be friends

    • Yes, it was a dark day when we had that global hazlenut shortage and I could not get these anymore. Fortunately, that time seems to have gone and I can continue binge eating and putting on the Covid Kilos…no, wait!

  • Kiwi friend says these taste different to those in NZ - different cows, or different recipe? Or is she just imagining it?

    • -1

How different possibly could it be?

Everybody is a food connoisseur these days.

    • +1

I think she is imagining it mate, I'm pretty sure they are all made in the Porirua, NZ factory

    • NZ has more variety for some reason we don't get the best flavours.

Seems we get the more plain chocolate variety, we never get dark forest for example, we also get smaller blocks then what "pack and carry" sell that just aren't as satisfying.

She is probably just use to her favourite flavour which may not be available here.

    • +3

I used to work in the NZ food industry.

New Zealand uses a different breed of cattle and their feed is different so the milk produced over there is different from what's produced here. It's been so long that my memory's fuzzy but if I recall correctly, the non-fat milk solid content is higher in their milk.

Therefore, all the products produced with milk in it such as chocolates and cheese for example taste different compared to what's produced in Australia.

  • +2

Big fan of this brand. My only complaint is that I don't think we can get their more specialist flavours here in Oz.

  • +2

They don't seem to do the Ghana Peppermint one in Australia anymore. Had to bring a few back from NZ with me last time.

  • -7

Prepare for the stampede of mask wearing fatso’s. 🤣

    • +3

Did that make you feel happy?

      • +1

        it made him furious

  • +1

Dark Ghana any good? Hope Amazon will match the price.

  • Whittakers or Lindt?

    • Whittakers

    • This bargain posting is currently showing 117 upvotes.

      • +1

        Lindt deal had 427 upvotes…

  • +1

Better to just get upcoming Aldi's chocolate and save 2 bucks

  • Yum best blocks on the shelf

  • -1

I tried the plain milk, very bland. Next to no taste.

    • +2

      Maybe you had Covid..

      • No. Lindt Excellence,Green & Black's is much better. Cadbury has more flavour though is not as smooth.

    • +1

      Try coconut

  • +1

Yeeeeet here we go again diet can go to hell yeeeet

  • Stopped buying when they canned Macadamia 4 or 5 years ago. Then the price shot up. Yeah it's good chocolate but not paying full price. I'd rather eat inferior cheaper chocolate but mostly I just don't bother.

  • Amazon must have price matched as they are fully out of stock now
