I know these cases have been done to death for gaming builds but it's a bloody good case… Very happy with mine

  • +2

love this case but the vertical gpu mount with pcie4 is so hard to find.

    • +1

      Damn, this one?

It's as expensive as the case!

      • +1

        That's an absolutely crazy price

      • +1

yeah, and this is a recent addition, i was just looking for this earlier this year (jan) and got nothing but PCIe3 versions… so the option was to spend 200+ for the mounting bracket and another 100+ for the 4.0 cables. i noped out.

    • Haven't built a PC for many years - so newbie question; why do you need this adapter? Doesn't a graphics card mount normally in the case with the default backplate?

      • +2

You don't "need" it. It's just so your you can look through the window at your pretty graphics card like this -> https://files.catbox.moe/mmknwy.jpg

But there is a case to be made that graphics cards don't sag when they are mounted vertically and considering how ginormous they are getting, might be worth while.

      • +1

for me, i needed it for cable management purposes. Depends highly on your GPU height and type. Mine has 2 water tubes sticking out at the top, so mounting it 'normally' on the board makes it a really tight fit in the case, as the tubes is pressed against the case cover. Not a good idea to have it that way and have a constant tension.

        also orientation because watercooling.

it's not just a pretty look in this case.

edit: its a evga hybrid 1080 card for reference purposes.

  • +5

    Very good deal.

A well designed and versatile case that would be overkill for many. Definitely worth spending the $109 on this vs the $60 - $80 on basic bottom tier cases

  • +1

I want it, but after struggling to shove everything inside my (overrated) NZXT H510 I don't think I want to pull it out.
I would probably get better temperatures though, the H510 is an oven with its few vents.

    • I've got this and easily fit 2x360 rads, 9 fans, 2080ti, reservoir. It's not that small like traditional itx cases

      • More fans at less power sounds so much better (literally) than my fans having at it in this case. Considering it …

  • too bad the black version in not on sale as well :(

    • Good thing for me. I don't need the temptation to swap out of my Razer O11Ds.

  • Damn bought the black version 2 weeks ago for the HTPC

  • +7

The only down side is the SFX power supply.

    • If that is such an issue, just use 2 power supplies.

    • Also SFX-L which adds some higher wattage options

      • +1

Less the W and more the I already have decent psu's

        • +1

This was the only reason I went with something other than these for my recent rebuild, I had a 1kW PSU that I was moving forward and it wouldn't have fit.

        • Yeh definitely… It's also hard to find decently priced ones.

  • +16

true ozbargainers don't use cases, they cable-tie their motherboards to the cardboard box it was delivered in.

    • +18

Incorrect. True ozb buy things, even if they don't need them.

      • +6

        This is the way!

        • +4

          Profile picture checks out.

    • +2

Glad I'm not the only one who does this.

      • I use to be a tight arse but OzBargain has cured me of my faults

    • Who needs fans in that case!? save more $$$

  • +2

Waiting for a deal on the air mini version. Amazon canceled my order with a $20 cashback due to no stock.

    • mind to share what makes air mini more compelling to this mini version?

      • +1

        Air(flow)

      • +1

Apart from the airflow, it comes with 2x 140mm + 1x 120mm fans, ATX PSU support (I already got one from the TT PrimeDay deal)
There are good SFX PSUs, but it is harder to find good deals than ATX.
I think there are minor layout improvements as well

  • Anyone know if these come with the offset brackets to mount a 360mm AIO in the top with an ATX board, or if I have to buy them separately still?

  • Should I replace my ft02 with this?

Kinda don't want to mess around with too much case fans though

    • Hey, I'm rocking an ft02, also looking to replace it soon… it is loud compared to some new builds I've seen, not sure if it's because the fan is getting old or just dusty…

      • +1

regardless of age of fans, its always a good idea to remove it for regular cleaning… and noise usually means wearing out of bearings.

        • I usually clean mine after a year and a half or so. Damn thing is so clean inside

          • @krisspy: from my experience, the hardest to clean component is the PSU itself… i have yet to find a safe and simple way to do it. most times involving taking it apart and blasting it with compressed air outside the house. Added anxiety that magic smoke happens when i plug it back in.

      • On low I find its pretty quiet. But I insulated all the crevaces like the front panel with foam to direct all the air up top.

Alta F1 looks to be a good alternative but at $300 it's hard to swallow.

Tempted with this or the metallicgear neo qube at half the price.

  • Somewhat inexperienced pc builder here, what components use pcie? Already bought some parts but would want to know if they will be compatible with this case

    • +2

Any "card" that you plug in to the mobo slots.

I remember when the choice was 8 or 16 bit slots, now they're all run by flux capacitors.

  • I just wish you could put an ATX PSU in this

    • +2

      Looking at https://lian-li.com/product/o11-dynamic-mini/
      It takes SFX/SFX-L PSU.
I should have checked that before ordering :-(
My Corsair RM1000i isn't going to fit.
Any deals on SFX/SFX-L PSU ?

      • Could get the 011 air mini instead. Not as pretty as this but still small and supports atx components. Running one myself and it's pretty good.

  • +1

I've got this case too and absolutely love it. Hope you guys find a great deal on an SFX power supply as well.

  • +2

Now you can see all the dust inside your case :)

    • Mine stays quite clean…

    • +1

its not too hard to keep it clean.

    • +2

Set all fans to exhaust. No dust will get trapped inside since it's always pushing air out /s.

      • +2

set it all to intake, you built your own room filter :P

      • Hahah. I tried this with one of my last builds, I think it makes more dust settle as less air is pulled in through filtered intakes.

    • +2

I’ve never cleaned my case and it still looks as good as new.

      • you don't use it at all? :P

unless you have it in a clean room environment, and you clocked > 500 hours on it… likely you should be able see visible dust if you wipe the fan fins with your finger.

if you manage to see dust bunnies in your case, it's a bit too late.

        • +1

I’ve used it roughly everyday for 4 hours for about a year, don’t get me wrong there’s a small amount of dust on the fans but not enough to want to clean it.

          • @Demarcus cousins: i feel that. same boat here. i can't count the number of times i looked for 'fully submerged' builds so that i can get away from dusts and just change the liquid… but alas, no.

  • +2

Pre ordered the lian-li lancool iii liked the extra mounting positions for aio 1 front for my gpu 1 top for my cpu.

    https://www.ple.com.au/Products/652297/Lian-Li-LANCOOL-III-M…

  • Very tempting, but psu wont fit and case bit too wide. Might get Antec P120 if it ever goes on sale.

    • +1

Metallicgear neo qube. Plenty of 011c clones out there

      • Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately not ideal for me though.
It's now piqued my interest into cases which allow multiple systems.

  • +2

built a rig for my son with this last year and it really is good and easy to setup, lots of space between components and fans. SFX psu is fine, my son doesn't game on AAA titles
