Vodafone Motorola Moto E7 64GB/4GB Grey $59, E7 Power 32GB/2GB $29 @ Woolworths (Limited Stores)

340

Woolies have further lowered the price of the E7 series. At limited stores only, especially for the E7 Power. Use stock tracker at links below to see what stores have stock, try entering different suburb if barely any stores load. Woolies stock numbers can be dodgy so I'd suggest calling before going.

  • Nice find OP, especially for those who already are using Vodafone / Kogan mobile.

    • It has all the 3G/4G bands used by Australian networks. Might be cheaper next week if the Optus realme C21 clear out earlier in the year is any indication. The Vodafone locked Nokia C01 Plus might be worth checking out as it also has limited availability but I've no idea of the current price. It has a smaller screen and removable battery comparable processor benchmarks but generally lower spec.

  • Looks like the E7 Power gets caned in the reviews https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/motorola-moto-e7-p…

I've read posts here and elsewhere from a couple of people complaining about lag but Ray Shaw gives the unlocked models decent reviews: e7, e7 power Slightly slower processor than the realme C21 which also got a decent review from him and I find my C21 fine not that it gets much use. These phones are definitely not speed demons and despite their RRP use slower processors than models from the year before at the same RRP.

      • How can they do a review and not talk about the display ??

        • It has an adequate one? From the comparison table in e7 power review:

          moto e7 moto e7 power
          Display 6.5”1600×720, 269ppi 20:9, 60Hz IPS TFT LCD 380nits typical Same

(How do I centre column headings?)

Who knew unlocking phone is big business.

    No stock 50km around

    • I drove to my nearest three stores and it says in-stock via Woolworths app and wasted my time there was none. But I managed to get some Decor microwave containers for 1/2 price. At least you didn’t waste any fuel :/

I picked up an e7 when the last deal was posted. Unlocked it no worries at all and find it a great budget phone. For my usage profile the battery life is massive and everything else runs fine.
I might pick up another and sit in the drawer for when either the kids or I inevitably fumble and smash a phone.

    • How did you unlock it? If you don't mind sharing.

eBay, took minutes to get a response. Despite making a typo entering it, the code worked perfectly.

        • Nice, thank you for the info.

I bought this last time and even paid for the unlock. Phone never charged, had to return and U lock charges went to waste

    • Were you trying to use a USB C to USB C cable? The phone doesn't recognise them for charging.

      • Tried multiple chargers and different cables.

  • Does buying prepaid mobiles count towards a Woolworths spend $X for X points offer?

  • good phone for kids

I ought to report you to child services. That's child abuse if you don't get a child an iPhone 13 pro Max.

      /s

      • Its also child abuse if they have to live on the streets along with you after spending everything on the phone ;)

    • After reading how slow this phone is, they will hate you for buying it. Better not buy lol.

      • +1

If they want a better phone. They can go buy their own yeah?

        • Haha, ya, they should understand the value of money. Even after that parents should monitor their usage. Todays kids are spoiled with parents buying them everything at a very young age.

Dual SIM? Hard to find definite answer from google

    • E7 Power - is not
      not sure about E7

      • Picked an e7 up this morning. Sadly not - instructions refer to both 1-sim and 2-sim model but my Sim tray isn't cut for a second Sim.

        • Looking at the specs, the 2nd slot of the dual SIM model takes either a memory card or another SIM so you'd probably want to put a memory card in the lower specced model anyway.

    • That's cause the unlocked models are dual SIM though its not unusual for this sort of thing to vary by market. Carrier locked versions are rarely dual SIM for obvious reasons. Some times they can be hacked to be converted to a dual SIM model but I've no idea about Motos.

Got the E7 $59 as need something as I am sending my samsung in for a battery replacement under warranty, unlocked for $6.50, quite snappy for the price, don't get the $29 power one only had 2Gb of ram compared to 4GB, wowifi and has VoLTE working with Telstra sim.

Got the $29 E7 Power 32gb and $6 unlock code for my dad who just needs a basic phone for phone calls and messaging. At that price, can't complain.

  • Grab the $29 power, runs better than anticipated. 2gb is not a problem at all. 4g ram doesn't help much for G25, it's just too weak for anything beyond 2gb.
Signal is very strong with Vodafone and Kogan is also supported, no reason to unlock it for another $6.

Thanks OP, picked one up to use as a back up phone.

  • Word of warning, these phones have a "feature" where they won't recognise a USB C - USB C cable (for charging or data transfer).
    USB A - USB C is fine.

  • Picked up an e7 from the last deal. Very happy with it, for$59 you can't go wrong if you are after a basic phone. Bonus is the long battery life too. Wouldn't get the e7 power though. At the service desk they have these in the drawers not on display so have to ask staff to dig them up. Then watch out because staff handed me an e7 power and only noticed at checkout. They look exactly the same box! Unlocked in a few hours via eBay no issues.

  • Just picked up one at $40 only
