Hi Tom. How does this coffee taste vs your moments to memories blend? I know single origin and blends are not strictly comparable. Thanks

  • +6

Great question to kick off the comments!

There's a decent amount of difference between the two, but rather than going down a rabbit hole of turning my answer into a Chemistry class haha the largest differences are that this SO will be sweeter and have more pronounced chocolate notes. Hope this helps you decide which suits you best :)

  • Why the price still showing $29.99 for 1kg?

    • Appreciate the double check!

I have a hunch you've selected 2x500g. On the product page under packaging you can select 1kg or 500g bags. If you select 1x1kg the price should show as $26.39 :)

  • Perfect timing. Just used my last bag last night. Cheers

    • Fantastic, love perfect timing, especially when it comes to fresh coffee!

Thank you so much for placing another terrific order with us, it's truly appreciated :)

  • +1

Can anyone that's had both Lime Blue and Airjo give their thoughts on the difference.

Currently been getting either Sumatra/Enterprise off Airjo. Cheers

    • +1

I order both regularly. I prefer Lime Blue however the difference is marginally different.

    • +2

I've ordered both for over year now. I prefer Lime Blue

    • Personally preferred Sumatra to these beans but that could just be how I have my coffee - flat white on oat milk.
Also Airjo ships from the Gold Coast and I'm in Brisbane so I get next day delivery, where as Lime Blue was slower (not their fault, damn AusPost).

No disrespect to the Lime Blue rep, they do an awesome job.

    • +6

Have ordered multiple blends from Airjo trying to figure out the hype. While they're good, Lime Blue has been consistently better, stays better for longer and is usually cheaper too. Combine that with the flexibility of Lime Blue's delayed dispatch, and I no longer order from Airjo.

Will place an order later today :)

      • +1

        Exactly my experience as well.

I shifted from Aldi SOs to Airjo (Enterprise, Sumatra) to LB (SO and blends). Much prefer the LB SO's to their blends which I felt are similar to Airjo's.

        • For sure, LB SOs are their best!

      • +1

Me too. I tried multiple Airjo blends (4?) and found them bland/not great compared to many of the more expensive blends I was used to buying from Sydney roasters. Lime Blue blends that I've tried (probably 10 by now) have much more flavour and taste fresher than Airjo and are nearly comparable to blends that cost much more money ($50-$60 per kg) from other well regarded roasters.

Lime Blue is the best bang for buck in my opinion.

        • +2

Yeah, I don't quite understand why the Airjo deals perform so much better on OzB compared to roasters like LB who offer better value, convenience and quality.

Maybe it's because Airjo were one of the first to offer direct to consumer bean deals via OzB. I like that we're seeing new roasters on OzB posting deals in the ~$30/kg delivered range, good to have competition.

    • +1

I always went with Airjo and their Enterprise blend for making cappucinos, but after trying Lime Blue SP SO, I think I prefer LB.

      • Thanks everyone! Grabbed a bag and will see how it goes

        • Wonderful to hear, thank you so much for placing your first order with us and to the terrific OZ B Community for sharing their most helpful feedback :) :) :)

  • Woohoo! Coffee beans Plus a free Tim Tam 🙌 any way to sneak in TWO Bikkies?

    • read that as bikies hah

    • +1

Shucks you know how to drive a hard bargain with a smile, nice negotiating skills. We run a lean ship, so every Tim Tam is spoken for. However, I'll check my personal stash and see if we can sneak in an extra one for you :)

      • Thank you! Now my partner and I can both enjoy our first cup of coffee from you in one hand and a Tim Tam in the other on our porch :)

        EXCITED!

        Order #18118

        • +1

Love it, best plan I've heard all day :) :) :)

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: Thank you Lime Blue! :) really happy with the coffee and the two Tim Tam's, we slammed them down pretty quickly but a fantastic touch.

            Thank you thank you!

  • Great, just placed an order. Very much enjoyed your Ethiopian and Kenyan single origins last October, it'll be wonderful if they make a reappearance in the future too!

    • +1

Terrific, really appreciate you placing another order with us!

Thanks for sharing that fantastic feedback, duly noted, they may make another appearance. If you enjoyed those ones so much, then some of the exception coffees we have planned for the future will absolutely knock your socks off. They've be launched via our email updates, so make sure you're on the list :)

  • Great deal. But interest rate hikes, I need to save money to pay my home loan.

    • Yea understandable :(
What beans have you moved to? Aldi coffee beans? or just skipping coffee altogether?

      • +1

Went local rosters, at least I can pick up to avoid shipping costs.

        • +3

Interesting, even with shipping costs OzB beans tend to be cheaper than my local roasters.

  • Aw man! I only placed an order on Tuesday! Oh well, its worth the price! Love your coffee!

    • +1

Love your glass half full approach!

Thank you for your orders, they are appreciated :)

  • Just ordered! Thanks op :)

    • Thank you, your order is really appreciated :)

  • Ordered, thanks @LimeBlueCoffee!

    • Really appreciate your order, thank you so much!

  • Hi OP, any deals on your decaf blend?

    • Yes please for a decaf deal! Would love to pick up this Sao Paolo SO and a decaf too!
Edit: just went to order the Sao Paolo and they do have a decaf on sale: https://limebluecoffee.com/products/500g-colombia-spring-wat…

      • Nice order combo!

Spot on, we've included a few deal surprises e.g. the EA Decaf and some equipment too. These are not mentioned on the deal post, just an extra bonus for anyone who clicks the deal link to discover :)

    • +1

You're in luck, our EA Decaf is on special too, just click on this deal link and you'll see it :)

      • Great to see, any chance you can get this in espresso grind instead of beans?

        • +1

Sure thing will make that happen for you, please leave an order note requesting "espresso grind." It's not listed as an option because we only have a limited amount of green/raw EA Decaf in stock. Having one product selection available for our EA ensures we won't oversell our current supply :)

      • Wonderful news! Thanks so much 🙂 will give it a try.

        • +1

Music to my ears, thank you so much for giving us a shot, hope you love our fresh coffee!

  • Looking for a deal on 4 Monthly Deliveries PrePaid Surprise Mystery Flight (Rotating Single Origin).

    • Love the sound of that, cutting it down to the wire as the final day for the 1st dispatch of our FBC 2.0 is tomorrow, please send an email to [email protected] today and we'll see what we can do for you :)

  • Hi op, what's the roast date if I choose 12 Aug as dispatch date?

    • Nice question!

We usually roast several times a week and the days vary from week-to-week, so I can't give you an exact date today. However, we strive to always dispatch our coffee nice and fresh usually within 48 business hours of roasting. As such, if your order is dispatched on the 12th we'll likely have roasted it on the 10th, 11th or 12th :)

      • Thanks for the quick response.

        Ordered. 😄

        • Perfect, glad the response was helpful, thank you so much!

      • Im new to this but I heard that actually you need to wait about 2-3 weeks from roasting date before using the beans to get the peak taste.
        Is that correct?

I mainly make espresso at home with Bambino plus

        • +1

          Nice question!

A little tricky to answer definitively, as taste is subjective. Here's what I do personally. I start getting stuck into the coffee around 24 hours after we roast it, as I enjoy tasting how the coffee flavour develops/changes over the first few days since the roast. I find the peak aroma and taste is after roughly a week of development time since the roast date. If I were you I'd try it as soon as it arrives and if you find you'd like a bit more flavour, wait 48 hours and try it again :)

  • Ordered! You still packing orders with that mini TimTam I need?

    • Thanks for the order, much appreciated. Consider your TT reserved :)

  • Just bought a1kg. I usually buy Campos beans so interested to try these out

    • Thank you so much for placing your first terrific order with us, it's truly appreciated and an opportunity we won't take for granted!

Hope you love our fresh coffee :)

  • Has anyone got any feedback about this versus Sunset Blvd from Inglewood?

    • We prefer the LB Brazil - but both the Sunset and Roosevelt are nice coffees (Roosevelt is particularly to our taste). Tend to look out for either on discount lest we experience the need to do an Aldi trip. :-(

Timing is good today - down to the last 300g of nice beans in the house.

  • Hi LBC Team,

I love your Single Origin Sao Paolo Blend, I was just wondering if I were to order this and put the whole bag in a ziplock bag and put it in the freezer if it would still remain fresh.

I've heard that it does retain its freshness but just wanted to know your thoughts as well.

Also can we grind the beans straight out of the freezer without having to leave them to 'thaw out'? Does it make a difference?

    Thanks.
    TK

    • +2

Wonderful to hear, thank you so much for the most welcomed compliment!

      Great question TK :)

Plastic is porous (why soda tastes better in a glass bottle, more CO2 than in plastic bottles…), so I wouldn't recommend taking the beans out of the coffee bag to put in a plastic zip lock bag. If you were to freeze the beans, either keep them in the coffee bag or place into an airtight container (ideally vacuum sealed). Freezing coffee in a domestic freezer will slow the oxidation rate, but not stop the aging process in its tracks unless you have commercial grade freezer that can get cold enough. I'd recommend you just order enough to last you roughly a month, then there's no need to freeze it. If you're all stocked up at the moment, then our unique scheduled/delayed dispatch system may be a winner for you. If however, you'd like to order more than a month's supply to save life admin of multiple orders or save the shipping cost, then I'd recommend freezing any unopened bags until you're ready to use them, once the bag is opened and removed from the freezer I'd recommend not putting it back in the freezer.

In terms of grinding from the freezer, it's really up to you. There will be a change in flavour between grinding frozer coffee and thawed coffee. I personally grind it frozen because anything frozen is quite brittle, as such this leads to more uniform grind size, thus better extraction/coffee :)

      • Thank you so much for the detailed response especially the tip about using a container instead of a zip lock bag for freezing.

Wish I'd known about that a little bit earlier 😅

        Thanks nonetheless.

        • :)

  • perfect timing!

my LB Guatemala Ayarza Single Origin shipment arrived yesterday, and I opened the first pack of 500g today

i ordered this for a 2nd week of september eta (where i estimate the ayarza stock to run out)

  • I'm in! Delayed dispatch FTW, love it

  • Hi Rep/community,
I've looked on the website, but can't work out what roast level these would be (eg. light/medium/dark). Any advice appreciated - thanks!

    • +1

Nice question, appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

We omni roast all our coffee to suit both espresso and filter methods. This wonderful SO we roast as Medium :)

  • I'd love to jump on this deal as the coffee is really amazing, but I've just signed up to the subscription so I'd end up with too much coffee and I'd be afraid of it losing freshness over time. I'll have to wait for the next one, I guess, but this deal still gets a +1 from me because it's simply awesome coffee beans!

  • Amazing– FBC 2.0 won't arrive until next month so this will get me through August!

    • +1

Thank you so much for placing another order with us!

I've just sent you an email to follow up this comment :)

  • Once opened, is it better to move the beans to an airtight container, or leave them in the original bag and ensure it's fully sealed back?

    • Nice question!

Is it vacuum sealed or just airtight?

      • I have this one

Prepara Evak Fresh Saver Airless Canister, Glass & Stainless, Medium, Soft Touch Black Handle https://amzn.asia/d/3DHPrba

It says it's airtight but it says airtight like no other lol..
Which product(s) would you recommend to store beans? Or, keeping them in the original packaging is sufficient?
Usually takes me about 2 weeks to finish 250g..

        • +1

This container, but out of sunlight.

  • Thanks OP. Great deal.

  • My first ozb bag of coffee. I must admit, I am a coffee snob and regularly stick my speciality coffee roasters but in true ozb style, couldn't let a bargain pass up.

    • Haha love it!

Really appreciate you giving us a shot, it's an opportunity we won't take for granted, thank you so much for your order :)

  • just ordered 1 kg this morning. I've been buying from either Airjo or Blue Lime, depends on which one has special…..:)
Can't taste much difference between them, or maybe because of I am just using an old Aldi espresso machine.

    • Thank you for another order, it's truly appreciated!

Every coffee is unique in its own way, doesn't matter whether you can personally tell the difference or not, what matters is that you enjoy it :)

  • Please do a deal for decaf? :p

    • Check out our homepage, we put a few extra surprises including a special on our EA Decaf :)

  • Thanks OP I've been buying fresh beans for the past 2 years from different roasters for my breville barista express and love it, this is my 1st time buying Single Origin beans so thought I would give yous guys a try especially at this price.
