  • So if its a relaunch its not a [World Premiere] is it?

    • I guess they adding T50 line on Ali from today

Looks like it only has Widevine L3 - same as the T40.

Not many details on this tablet available.

  • Unisoc T618 is the same processor found in the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8. It's a bit too underpowered to drive displays higher than 1080p.

There are similar tablets with a lower price tag with the same chip, 2k display and 4G LTE e.g

I bought two of the Blackview tablets via a deal posted by Clear . They were just for the kids, very sluggish, unresponsive, they keep turning off, battery not great etc. They just use YouTube, reading eggs etc. Nothing demanding.

I'd have said I got a faulty tablet, but both were like that.

        Which ones?

        • They are a Blackview Tab10, 4GB RAM, Android 11.

Specs seemed good for the price, so i pulled the trigger - and the kids don't game at all on them. Its really youtube kids, mathletics, reading eggs.

I'll boot one, and even pulling up the keyboard to login to reading eggs brings either of them to a crawl. Often same with navigating youtube kids etc

EDIT - i am keen to replace with 6/8GB tablets, i know 4 was pushing it, but again, its very basic usage.

          • @Oxxy: What apps do run smoothly on those tablets then? Calculator?
4gb should be sufficient for reading eggs and youtube.

    • I wouldn't say underpowered for the displays over FHD - that's the GPU and powerful MTK CPUs use the same one. High level gaming like Roblox no chance however.

Teclast has a horrible reputation with me, but it's your money guys. Once bitten, twice shy. I have only bought one product off them and it was returned to Banggood. Banggood censors critical reviews, much like my experience with Amazon. I was done with both Teclast and the retailer.

That said, things could have changed with this product. Again, your money.

We have a Teclast M40 which had really good performance reviews for the $ and time. We found the performance has been great even to this day, able to multi task, play games while playing YouTube etc which the little one loves to do, however the real trouble arises when you need to do repairs.

Inevtible cracked screen so had to order a replacement from Aliexpress which turned out to be junk and kept giving rainbow issues through the new LCD, so I made one good screen/panel from the 2 parts.
Daughter then broke the USB C charge port, so had to order a replacement USBC port from Aliexpress too which had to be unsoldered/resoldered on. Much harder then a Samsung/Apple fix which is usually just a ribbon cable.

Don't think I would buy one again but your mileage may vary.

  • any experience with Chewy tablets?

    • Chuwi tablets are good and usually better quality, but sometimes they're lacking in areas like RAM and then cost more than Teclast, Alldocube etc.

    • in general they are all crap, stick with reputable brands, the quality/software to price value isn't there

you can pickup a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 for $250 at bigw tomorrow and it's better value

back in the day these cheap chinese brands were actually cheap, not the case any more and the software has always been rubbish

  • Cant recommend teclast. Purchased a Tbook11 back in 2016, not a single update released from the vendor.

    • chinese brands for tablets and phones are unlikely to get any updates ever

one should assume zero updates, if there is an update assume it's a poor one with significant potential of making the device worse

      cube, chewi, teclast,etc etc etc

when they had Windows 10 8" tablets for $100 running atom processes they were great but those days are long gone, better off sticking to a reputable brand

    • Tbook11 is dual boot yeah? So updates for Windows from Microsoft at least.
