    Not even close.
    
    The connectors feel nice in the hand and feel strong without being oversized, the little flex bit really does seem to actually support the join area and the cable part is thick and the braid is actually sturdy.

How are these with android auto?

My genuine cable is starting to play up and tossing up whether to get another genuine one or use an after market one.

  Probably the only issue would be that they're not as flexible as most cables.
  They're properly heavy duty.
  
  In my wife's Elantra the Android Auto port is under a little retractable door and the only logical place to store the phone is on top of that door.
  One of these wouldn't work well at all in that scenario as the phone wouldn't lie flat, the stiffness of the cable would hold up the charging port end of the phone and cause it to rattle which would do my head in before leaving the driveway!
