                Oh right, he should have mentioned that crucial difference in his original post. He made it sound like the standard price of the 512GB model was simply $1.3k when it was actually the 256GB model and involving a trade-in deal.

    won't be returning to samsung until the battery life can match 13 pro max. It's not like the flagship Samsungs are a bargain compared to the iPhone pro series, they're both in the pricey-phone territory.

        I've been an android guy my whole smartphone life (10 years) and switched to 13 pro max from an S22 U and I have no complaints. It does the job perfectly for me.

          don't listen to @lifestories ios can do everything Android can and better, like widgets!
          I've sen ppl stick usb drives into iphones, plus connect monitors for desktop mode, resizable windows for apps by default and install apps for multitasking and full background services and all.
          and all the while using less battery too, cos ios background services dont need to consume any memory or power, they just wok!
          please don't tell ppl you have been an Android guy for 10 years and you didn't learn any advanced Android system features… that makes us ios ppl sad to know you wasted those years, or your slow :(

            @davidng4534: Used android for 10 years, on my first iPhone now. No regrets. It just works. Samsungs are expensive as fu** nowadays, no way im putting up with half the battery life of the 13 pro max for the same price. Don't know how dudes on YouTube are showing 8-9 hour battery life as my friends and I with our s22 U could not get more than 4.5 hours in the 16 hours it stays unplugged for (morning to night). 13 pro max does 9 hours with ease.

            @davidng4534: @davidng4534 LOL pretty much ALL those things you mentioned Android was doing well before iOS even thought about it. Up until a few years ago, 'multitasking' on iOS was just switching apps. They only followed the Android way of allowing split screen fairly recently. Also, you mention widgets as an example but widgets on Android were there almost a good 8 years before iOS and they're FAR better. You can get them to look any way you like, resize them, change colours, fonts, whatever. They're so customisable on Android whereas on iOS, you get only whatever widget options the App and Apple deem appropriate.

    Just went down to the Samsung store and had a look at it today - looks quite good compared to my Z Fold 2
    - shiny bezel
    - matte back
    - the change in cover display aspect ratio is noticeable
    - the bezels are wayyyyy smaller on the internal screen
    - hinge is much much smaller
    - crease is less noticeable
    - the folding mechanism feels much less mechanical

    Thanks OP and other commenters good info purchased two.

    Trade in works atleast for me did this twice one for me and the brother, bit worried about long term durability and past issues with screen protector on older models seems to get better with each model and has better adhesive this time around I read.

    So added Samsung Care extra $299 down the road can get a new replacement regardless of condition. Program seems to get some negative reviews but also includes reviews with issues with fridges and TVs which would be a hassle and cost to ship back and forth so understand company would make it more difficult on these items. Might be eating my words in two years time lol but will roll the dice for $199. Previous 3 day new phone which I sat down as not to drop whilst climbing a ladder then an unseen brick from ceiling or God dropped on the screen cracking it :(

      Hmm, did you not use the BONUSCARE code above? You get free Samsung Care with it. You should be able to cancel the order easily and re-order if you missed it.

      There is a 200$ trade in bonus already, and I don't think it will change until pre-order end. After that they will probably increase the bonus value, but you also miss the free ROM upgrade from the pre-order.

    I did try my note 20 ultra for trade in app and it said not eligible cuzz mine is snapdragon one and honking version. Seems make sense

    I do have the edu email but the main thing then I can't trade in my note. Lol.

    In my xase so jb hifi deal seems better which is traded in accept and bonus $600 with phone $450.

    So total cost is 1450. Any one knows can we buy the samsung care plus thru jb hifi ?

    Any case recommendations? Ordered the Beige 512gb today as I wanted a change from my green/black Fold 3 which is basically the same as black. The case will cover the colour anyway apart from the hinge. Anyone know if the cases with the ring holder/stand and metal plate still allow for NFC payments and wireless charging?

      I liked the aramid case from the Fold 3 but it looks like Samsung aren't making it for the Fold 4. I ordered an Aliexpress version instead.

      What's a ring holder? Any popsocket attachment will cancel any wireless charging and power sharing abilities plus add more bulk to an already bulky phone.
      Not to mention causes more rocking on a table if you care.

      Don't even get started with metal plates if you plan to wireless charge…the metal plates will heat up so much it'll probably cause damage to your battery in the long run

        I use the Peak Design Mobile Universal Adaptor on my Fold 3. It works great with the wireless-charging magnetic car mount, the wireless charging stand, and the bike mount. It works with a standard wireless charger too.

        I did have to dremel a notch to fit the camera bump to get the placement of the adaptor right though.

        NFC payments works fine too.
