Their joining fee is cheap! In Qld it's the equivalent of a year's membership, or it was the last time I looked.

Budget Direct have a call out service (with Ultra Tune I think) but its a bit different. Its only covered for a particular car, doesn't cover really old cars, etc. Suitable for some people.

About $20 cheaper a yr. No joining fee.

RAA are a rip off and probably getting less members, no wonder they're allowing free membership.

  8 call outs per year with RAA and only 4 with Budget Direct.
  
  Nearly every 2nd garage and tow company are RAA, Ultra Tune are only in a hand full of locations.
