  • This or Heymix?

I did a quick google. These chargers look very similar to a lot of others for sale. All come from the same factory with different logos.
Heymix does seem to be an OB favourite

It appears Heymix sell this same charger…
      https://www.amazon.com.au/HEYMIX-Dual-Port-Certificated-%EF%…

This seems to be the approval certificate for these Coles Blaupunkt ones:
      https://equipment.erac.gov.au/Public/Profiles.aspx?Applicati…

If you google the model numbers: TCS-20WACA or such, it brings them up under a couple of different names, Heymix, Wisecase, and such…

Edit.. The Heymix rep quoted the same certificate number for their version here:

I would avoid both but if you have to, this. Even if they are the same this charger is sold by a major retailer should there be an issue.

Heymix may just be piggybacking off the Blaupunkt certificate with a copycat device….

Blaupunkt is made by Shenzhen Tongchangsheng Technology, where as Heymix claims on Amazon the brand of theirs is ‎JUQIA, which is Shanghai Juqia Network Information Technology, it appears they make a lot of the other Heymix chargers also…

I guess with them selling any old chargers with their name slapped on them they probably don't really know who's making what, lol

I was going to say this - if it conks out, just take it back on your next shopping trip. If the heymix conks out you probably just chuck in for landfill cause it wouldn't be worth the trouble. That said, my 2x heymix chargers of this type are going strong, no issues so far. But others haven't been so lucky.

Ahh, they're in the Best Buys catalogue, no wonder I couldn't find them in the normal one:

Catalogue on sale Friday 12th August 2022 and only while stocks last. If stock is available beyond the advertised date the promotional prices will be
    offered until stock runs out

    • Also located in the same "Best Buys" shop floor area or nearby…

Blaupunkt originally was a German / Euro electonics manufacturer. These days they make nothing and just licence the brand name to anyone willing to pay for it. So don't consider you are getting anything of quality just because of the brand name…

More than likely the Coles lines can be bought cheaper or more expensive as they are all the same as mentioned previously.

    • Yeah, I remember the time (80s?) when their "Made in Germany" TVs were highly praised. Sad to see that brands are routinely sold and bought and don't mean anything these days.

They had (NSFW) commercials as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Y9jclhpZt0

I have the heymix one (came in a pack of two) and it has been totally reliable

  • Been into 2 local Coles that are listed as 'Best Buy' stores on their website. Not a single Blaupunkt cable to be seen.

The one I went to yesterday had them in a completely random spot, in a small cardboard cutout stand at the back of the store at the end of an isle.

  • Blaupunkt products sold at Coles are not high quality products. Last time I bought a heater few months ago, unboxed it, it had garbage bag smell from the plastic. Then I used it for few days, the heat setting switch button broke. I had to return it.
