For annual payers, a discount of 25% will be applied to your annual instalment, due in the first month of your policy. • Great question - I was offered to use it an hour ago, so if it's still popping up on the website, I'd argue it was still valid, but without taking up the offer, I can't tell you for sure.

  • My cat doesn't need Insurance because according to him "I'm fast as fck boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii"

New cat is cheaper than insurance.

      • +3

That is your basic new for old cat policy

Tried to enter breed as mongrel or bitza, and not accepted. Shame on dog nazis!

  • What happen if you cancel this insurance after 3 months?

    • Having a look at my quote, I assume they take the three months worth of premiums and discount them off the 12 months. So you're still paying monthly, but the cost of the first year is less per month due to the averaged discount.

for me it says 2 months not three, and it just takes it out over the 12months so instead of free it is discounted

    • Make sure you change the promo code - the one in the URL defaults to PIA241

I'm torn on whether or not to get insurance for new puppy. Previous dog (14 years) had a great health run until he broke his leg.

I guess the Woolworths one at least gives a discount on groceries…

    • Personally, I think there's a higher chance of issues being picked up in the first year or two. Hopefully nothing, but if there is at least you won't have to pay full $$.

      • if they develop cancer later in life, it can cost over $20k without insurance.

        • True, but for older pets you’ll be paying over $1000 a year for the insurance alone, from memory.

    • The WW monthly shop discount makes it worthwhile.. I don't see my pup as "replacable" for any money really.

thanks OP bought a $500k fixed value insurance for my pet duck.

    • Are you teaching it to swim?

Wouldn't recommend PIA or any pet insurance using Hollard as reinsurer. Their premiums go up a lot every year even if you don't claim and it's hard to get reimbursements for claims. RAC WA or RACQ is a far better pet insurance. Highly recommend them.

Also, you should not change pet insurance once you get it as pre existing conditions don't get covered. It's best to stick with one good insurer from beginning.

    • opposite experience with PIA - I don't recall how much the premiums go up by but they're not unexpected as my dog is 10+, however it's very easy to claim (vet does it - I've never submitted anything) and always get payments in a timely manner. Nothing's been rejected.
