  • Hmm is $40 for a sleeping bag I'll never use worth it?

    • +3

      $50 with shipping

  • I highly doubt you would be comfortable at -10 degrees in this

    • +3

better than sleeping with no sleeping bag at -10 degrees

      • What the hell are you doing sleeping outside in -10 anyway!!!

Just know that for $50, you can get a sleeping bag that should definitely be comfortable at 0 or a little under… which is what Canberra is getting to at night now. And at this temp, only an idiot is camping outside :).

If you really like Apline camping, this probably aint for you ;).

Bought this exact same one last year through COTD, works well seems to handle 0 comfortably any less it's quite uncomfortable

I've used this in -3 and -7 conditions

You won't die but you probably won't sleep but obviously rubber mats and lots of thermals you'll be fine

        • Hey, wondering how heavy is it? I am buying it for camping while trekking and I don't want to be lugging around something very heavy. Thanks!!

  • Buy & offer to homeless people, until someone accepts your gift. ;-)

I think they'd just rather the $50… just cut out teh middle man and be done with it.

      • I was outside at midnight/1am yesterday.
Far out it was freezing, think I would have taken the sleeping bag tbh.

  • Anyone seen this? how good is it for winter camping? and how heavy is it? can it be carried?

  • +1

I wonder how much it weighs. I took my K-Mart sleeping bag on a cycling tour of the Himalaya last year. It wasn't really designed to handle the temperatures at 5.5km elevation :)

I could do with one of these…

So youre a gambling man then :) ?

      Himalaya's with a K-Mart sleeping bag? Damn dude… that's umm, being different.

      • +2

        literally ride or die

    • You went on a bike tour and didn't plan to have a below freezing sleeping bag?

      I smell bullshit.

      • +2

Don't you mean yakshit? It was the Himalayas after all :)

  • it seems that this is designed for winter camping. I bought two enough for me and my two girlfriends.

    • 3 people in 2 sleeping bags!, you'll be packed like sardines

Ignore the temperature rating. Only down sleeping bags really work in < 0 degrees. Also it doesn't mention the weight, you don't want to be hiking with a bulky and heavy sleeping bag. If you're going in the cold, invest in a down sleeping bag, get a second hand one if you have to. It's worth it. Not something you want to saving a few dollars on, which you realize when you're camping in sub zero cold with just a thin tent to protect you from the outside, where your bones feel cold even with three layers of clothing, two pairs of socks, inside the sleeping bag. Where the worst thing imaginable is needing to pee in the middle of the night.

  • bought 4 thanks…
