On sale for a good price is this high end dual beam bike light from Nitecore that currently sells for A$192.39 from Amazon and $214.95 from Liteshop as an example. What sets this apart is that it has 2 CREE XM-L2 U2 LEDs that emit a maximum output of 1800 lumens and features both a low beam light for the city and covering dead spots and a high beam for more long range areas.

The light can be changed between different modes and lumen levels, has an OLED display that shows the current mode, brightness level, remaining run time and battery life, as well as a 6800mAh rechargeable battery and an attachable button for controlling the light from your handlebars. It's IPX7 waterproof rated and has a quick release mount.

As a quick example you can see the brightness of the light here, here and here. An excellent choice for your bike or eScooter.

  • Awesome, would cashback work with this as you are using a code? Could potentially get another $5 off with TA's deal earlier today.

Yeah Cashrewards is fine with my GeekBuying codes.

  • car 4x4 headlight + 24v battery works well on my escooter. 2600lm 😋😋

    • What scooter do you have?

      • kaabo mantis 10 duo, headlight from supercheapauto

        • I was hoping for a Kaabo Wolf 😝

@Clear: i dont have that big of a budget 😭😭😭

Anything beyond a few hundred lumen is nothing but obnoxious and a hazard to other road users. There's no excuse to use this at full power on-road.

    Off road? Sure.

    • So this is the bike equivalent of high beams

    • +3

@Obsidiate Ah throwing out some crumbs to see who bites; "Anything beyond a few hundred lumen is nothing but obnoxious"
I'm not falling for that, I read your Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p comments, getting upset about the word "snappy" "The CPU was released in 2013 for christs sake."
and "Pointing out something that was factually, patently false isn't a whinge. It is not a "good" processor. It is not "snappy".

      • Mate, brightness and beam pattern of car headlights is strictly defined in ADR's with very specific testing methodologies for a reason, much like LED conversions are illegal for a reason, and it's not so you can retinally-blast other road users because you feel like it.

I'm a cyclist and a motorcyclist, and there's nothing that shits me to tears more than a multi-thousand-lumen bike rider blowing out night vision for a kilometer because they have zero self awareness.

I'm glad you can read. You get 5 stars. Pointing out when hysterical bollocks is hysterical bollocks isn't being upset, it's being realistic. Something sorely lacking amongst the pile on brigades on OzB, which seems to be going the way of every other social media as it gains popularity and the idiots take over.

@Obsidiate Hey looks like I've now got a couple of big bites, I can see why you enjoy doing this, it is fun!
OK I gotta bite, I have this vivid picture of me riding my bike down a quiet street late at night, then 1 KM away another cyclist is riding in the opposite direction towards me, I can see him because I've bought my new Nitecore BR35 bike light that turns night into day and I've tilted my light up so the 1,800 lumen light shines far into the distance. But as I come to pass this cyclist the peace and quiet is broken as I can hear him screaming "turn your bloody lights down, you people shit me to tears, you have zero self awareness"!!

@PukeyLuke: There is an epidemic of people that don't give a shit about their behavior impacting others, but the thing that truly astounds me is the legion of morons standing by to pile on to anyone that might suggest that said behavior isn't normal, and isn't acceptable.

Meanwhile these people that would tell us all they have life sorted and are the harbingers of all truths, aren't millionaires, aren't influencers, aren't leaders….well. Aren't much.

Jog on sport. User comments hidden. I'll never read another thing you say, but I trust you'll fire back something yet again to look cool in front of the other kids.

Good thing the lumens/brightness can be adjusted. I for example ride my e-scooter through the city and go offroad at night too. This suits both purposes.

  • How soon can I get it? Need it by September.

    • +1

Priority shipping is normally 2 weeks or so but I think you'd be pushing it.

  • oh nice. like the idea of the remote switch. wonder if it can be used as a powerbank like my olight rn1500 can?

    • Sadly not.

  • Can it be wired into an E-bike setup?

    • Not that I know of. You'd need something like a power bank attached to the e-bike to charge it.

      • my current headlight and tail lamp are powered off my e-bikes battery?

e: to clarify its a custom built bike too, not a turn-key ebike.

        • And what lights are they?

    • Laserface you might be interested in Magicshine lights. Some come without batteries with variable input voltage for ebikes.

I personally like to high beam cyclists back when they're using something like this blinding me at night

lol why would you be proud of this?
