G9 series launched this year, not at these prices but be aware you’re buying something up to 6 years old.

Good price if you're a basic user (email, browsing, documents, etc.). At least they tested the battery life, and has FHD, which is what so many complain about if it's not. Even has USB-C. Looks like a good deal to me.

  • I couldn't find an i5-6500U CPU on google, only i7-6500U, could this be an i7?

    • might be a 6200U

      • Yeah more likely.

Would this have enough grunt for a HS student?

        • yes, plenty. As long as the battery holds out.
          The 16GB is nice.

      • Hmm..

        From Bufferstock's listing:

        CPU: Intel Core i5 (6th Gen) 6500U /2.5 GHz

Think they made one typo or two?

I'm only chiming in as I've got a 6200U elitebook from way back as a pihole plex etc box.

Edit: ah there we go, two typos (6300u)

    • CPU details updated , its i5-6330U

      • Thanks

Edit: Having same problem, lol maybe it's a 6300U :)

        • lol yes 6300U,

Solid laptop, had one of the older models (15.6" instead of 14") for about 5 years.

    Pros:
    - Battery is in good nick
    - Warranty
    - Dual channel memory and 16GB of it
    - 1080p on a 14" screen should be plenty sharp

    Cons*:
    - Trackpad is awful. Mushy and you cant move the pointer while clicking. Would recommend a mouse
    - Dual core processor starts to chug if you have things like Youtube, Zoom, Chrome and Spotify open in the background at the same time.

*It is $299. If you can stand these cons then it's a great pick.

  • shame it's display port not hdmi

    • cable with hdmi and dsiplay port will fix that problem.

      • it will but it's just a shame it's not got an hdmi port

  • 16GB RAM and dual core. Shame.

  • Upgrade to my HP 630..

  • This laptop has space for a sata drive.
Mine also has an LTE card.
ChromeOS Flex also runs really well on this.
