Just to add, this also includes Samsung Pay. In the "Things you should know" section, the first clause says:

To be eligible to receive $600 cashback, you must apply for the Citi Premier Card by 31 August 2022, then spend a minimum of $2,000 on eligible purchases using your new card through Apple Pay or another eligible digital wallet within 90 days from approval. Excludes Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, interest, fees, refunds and Chargebacks. "Another eligible digital wallet" means Samsung Pay.

  • so $600 off a new TV!

    • well $450 after the annual fee

      • oh yeah :(

Annual fee is $150 for the first year, $300 after that.

  • (profanity), literally applied and approved for NAB yesterday…

    • +1

      Apply for this as well.

      • Nah, this is my second card in 2 months. Doubt I'll get approved.

  • +2

What are eligible? Does this apply to existing customers?

Churned from ANZ Black to this. Got approved in less than 24 hours and didn't have to jump through any hoops like I did with ANZ. App feels pretty dated but oh well.

Had completely opposite experience. Will say never for City. They Rejected me for no reason. Had great credit score and all finances managed through NAB .This was last time though for Mastercard offer

Same just happened to me. They didn't even ask for assets on the application process, yet denied my application

The better option for current ANZ black reward holder nearing the end of first year free annual fee period is churning into ANZ black frequent flyer and for $3k spend in 3 months you get 160,000 qantas points (estimated $810 jb gift card) and $225 cashback on top to offset frequent flyer $425 first year annual fees so you ended up paying $225 first year fee vs $395 should you stay with ANZ black.

So I think nett outcome for staying with ANZ is $800 - $225 = $575
Moving to NAB’s Citi premier is $600 - $150 = $450 but you do get to save $1k from unnecessary expenditure.

But if you need to spend $3k over 3 months for any reason, ANZ is still a better choice for current black holder.

      • Damn, I assumed I wouldn’t be eligible as I wasn’t a new customer. Thank you for the breakdown!

  • Assuming this is not for existing customers?

  • Fees and charges apply. Credit Criteria apply. New cards customers only and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers.

  • Anyone tried adding the card to multiple apple / samsung pay? ie - adding card to wife's phone as well for faster spend?

      I could help too

Highly recommend giving them a call when closing your account and requesting the annual fee be waived. I called to close the card within 6 weeks of opening it and the customer service rep refunded me the entire $150 annual fee!

    • This.

I got refunded for around $130 from $175 fee - kept the card for about 3 months.

    • Did you pay your balance before calling them to cancel?

      • +1

It was shortly after a statement so I had paid my statement in full and had a small outstanding balance.
Transferred the rest of the amount minus the annual fee and closed the card with the rep on the phone who said the AF will be refunded.

  • does the $15,000 credit limit mean I probably won't be approved holding a 3k credit limit amex and having a 75k salary

    • It's also depending on your monthly spends, debt as well.

  • Seems like the offer has been extended to 30th November with the minimum credit limit dropped to $10,000. Am I missing anything?

  • This is hard as hell, what do you guys purchase using ApplePay? Besides Groceries from Coles, etc.

    • You could buy gift cards from Coles to use for groceries?

    • +1

You could purchase a $2000 prepaid Mastercard and use that to pay other places - online etc.

    • literally everything I purchase in person.

  • Can you buy jb hifi gift cards?

  • how do i pay as apple pay? is it just adding a credit card and spending via wallet nfc or do i have to buy that offer 'apple pay' at checkout like some places (e.g. apple website)

  • I got this card and my friends are interested are there any referral perks?

    • No referral. Just apply direct from Citibank.

What does new customer mean? I have cancelled this card 2 months back, can I re-apply again and be eligible ?

  • Hi guys ,

I’ve spent the 2k on Apple Pay do you know I have to wait 90 days from approval to receive cash back ? Or does it appear once the requirements are meant? Also if I go onto spend 4K will I also get the citi points offer of 150k in points ? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    • quoting the T&C
"Cashback will be credited to your Account within 16 weeks of meeting the spend criteria. Your Citi Premier Card must remain open and in good standing to receive the cashback."

so will take up to 4 months to get cashback after meeting the requirements.

  • I used my zip card to pay for everything, and then used the citi card to pay off my zip via apple pay
