I think its the cheapest I've seen the N300 12TB, quick check here and on staticICE confirms it but i could be wrong! 17% off Ebay Plus, for the rest its 15% off. The larger N300's are a helium-sealed design, hopefully increasing relability, I personally have been using Hitachi/Toshiba hdd's for the last ten years and have found them very reliable.

  I would strongly recommend not buying a Toshiba HDD since there is no way to RMA them.

    How so? It's got a warranty. Both supplier and manufacturer can have the item returned to them if it's faulty.

          I called every number for Toshiba that I could get, and every distributor in Australia. If you actually get through to anyone, none will perform a RMA.

          You might be able to go through your credit card company and try to dispute the charge if you don't care about you eBay account getting banned. Technically your credit card company probably won't do it for a warranty issue but you never know.

            @coxymla: good to know, thanks: I'll definitely test this one then when I get it (sometimes they end up on a shelf till I need them). I remember having similar issues with another brand years ago. I forget which, but they expected you to post overseas for an RMA. Cost like $40.

            Just read the overclockers thread 😬. I guess buying through amazon would be OK - then it becomes their problem.

  Bought one from futu - same price: ~$27/tb. Not bought Toshiba HDD before, seems like good value. The only thing cheaper I saw was Seagate Barracuda 8tb at ~ $22/tb
