This is a really good game. Aussie developer too.

    • Sure is, lots of great games are coming out of Australia. Support them!

Genuine question, does getting a game off Epic for free "support" the developer at all? Other than if you enjoy it and spread the word.

        • Epic pays the publisher/developer to give away their game, it's either equal to x amount of sold copies or how many claims that specific game had

          • @Kozhutki: Didn't know this. "Bought" but it's not my style so it can just sit there in the collection

    • Agreed, I really enjoyed this game

Hey I made that game :P

Wow really? Hats off if true 👍

Haha yup, active developer on the game, and ported it to support Epic.
        Hopefully it works 😅

I've been waiting for the day my game would appear on OzBargain 😆

        • You guys working on anything else? Would love a follow up or DLC.

        • What made you choose Epic for the launch?

    • I really like and really hate the game at the same time.

      Well done! Great game

Excellent Game, can put people off early by being difficult and having unique mechanics that don't really translate over from many other games. Enduring through the first few plays and slowly understanding what has killed you each time and what you could have done to avoid death is very satisfying, because of the very clear and concise UI design that forecasts the outcomes of your next possible actions before you take them.

I would classify the game as a "Turn-Based Dungeon Crawler" where as you would run Diablo 3 Rifts in a turn-based method where cards are representative of all monsters/items/interactables.

Not much to look at with screenshots or previews, really one of those games that you have to give a try and when you start to overcome what was seemingly impossible in the first few hours of the game, the sense of progression and accomplishment was up there with the best of games.

    • great description. thanks.

  • I've put maybe ~20 hours in to it. It's a good game and most of its problems are nitpicks but I'll voice the things that frustrate me. You should still play it but if the developers see it I'll at least feel heard

    1) Poison doesn't kill enemies before they get a chance to hit you so it seems underpowered (haven't committed to a full poison build yet though)

    2) Exploding guys ruining my day by boxing me in is a bit rude but part of the flavour of the game I reckon

    3) How hard it is to get the spoon consistently

    4) Another ending would be cool as doing the same 2 can get a bit repetitive. Currently it's just a matter of deciding "What ending haven't I finished yet/Am I strong enough to fight the Darkness?"

      1) Poison builds are strong if you focus on high Defence also, as your poison damage will stack greatly over time where counter attacks will not be doing so much to you. The different builds and playstyles require different strategies to work effectively.

      2) Exploding enemies are generally shown to you several turns before they are in range to hit to you, this allows you to plan your next 1-2 moves accordingly knowing that they are lurking around the next turn. If you ignore a threat that might be 2-3 turns ahead of you then you could easily fall into the trap.

      3) You can start with the spoon using the Double Candle if required.

      4) The 2 choices of "Last Boss" can get a bit repetitive after completing it dozens of times, the enjoyment should be in the journey getting there and not so much of an epic final encounter. Playing around with different builds (such as negative clarity + curse damage) and also going through the acheivements and unlocks is where I got most of the enjoyment from the game.

      Cheers.
