ozbargain has quickly become my go to site for all issues personal, business and financial

      and legal advice.

        Insurance claims a specialty.

What better team of on-call defamation law experts could you possibly ask for?

      • +2

jokes aside i really do consider this a tight knit community (even though im sure there is a fair share of people here who cannot stand me) - and I'm proud the community banded together in support of a fellow ozbargainer in that thread.

I came for the advice, but I stay for the weekly SlavOz sermon.

      • +2

Ozbargain forum drama is better than any TV show

      • I stay for Pam

It's faster to get a response from Ozbargain than it is from a manufacturer.

All they want is for the community to back their confirmation bias and have us all just scream "GeT YoR CoMpEnSaTiOnZ!!!1!!"

    • +3

And fight with randoms when confirmation bias is not sought.

      • +2

And neg those that play devils advocate and challenge their BS.

  • its a change from all the other weird and wacky posts we get!

    • +3

But I like weird and wacky sometimes.

      • dont poke the bear i mean troll

        • Hey it keeps things interesting

Why did you even post this ? People are free to do what they want, if it was an issue then the moderators would take care of it.

So just like you posting this inane post, people can ask for help for their specific issues.

Less and less people seem to be able to think for themselves nowadays. Everyone's getting too soft!

    • +2

….and more and more people seem to be able to think only of themselves. Damn you, social media!

    • Could be "Frequency illusion"… Maybe those people were not easily seen vs nowadays with the popularity of social media.

    • No!! There were always dumb folk who had to ask about basic stuff at work etc before SM (pick your own expansion 🤐)…
Used to spend enjoyable hours giving BS answers, kidding them along and generally giving them sh@t. Did it to their face with humour and a minor amount of empathy.

This sort of discussion and behaviour has now transferred to online, where many users don't understand the rules of polite written discourse.

There are many among us that have little idea about anything, and want advice about almost everything.
      Let them post!
      Give them sh@t!
Just let's not get too serious or abusive about it……
After all - it is SM…….😏

There's even post asking if Aust post is open on a certain day… The forum should be renamed as OzConcierge

I hate that lazy shit, really pathetic

    • +4

Or the other one where a user was asking about smart doorbells without cameras and said they couldn't find anything on Google.

These are the type of people who have Google as their start page and type in "google" into the search bar to get to "Google" when they are already there.

    • While we’re all here anyway, what time does it close tonight? I’ve got to get my tattslotto numbers in.

  • +2

I have no problem with it. For the poster, it's good to get the opinions of a number of different people to gather a consensus if you're going through something you haven't experienced before. For the reader, I find some of them them educational, especially that bathroom leak one.
