I have the same (or at least similar) knife at home, good quality multi-purpose knife, my go-to knife for when I'm cutting up lots of meat and veg. The knife is worth ~$100 at the moment going by what's on offer elsewhere. The sharpener is also probably ~$30, so both for $97.26 seems decent. Enjoy.

  • Good knife, sliced the tip of my finger while washing it after using it for the first time. Sharpener is also good, have used it for my Victorinox cheap knives and works wonders. I think i posted like 80 for everything through eBay a year ago during an afterpay sale, not disappointed.

Just by holding it in your hand you immediately feel it's sturdy, good weight and easy to clean.

    • I've had mine for about 9 years and literally did this the other day for the first time when washing it. It went through like butter.

  • My set are around 14 years old and still going strong.

    • Hey, what do you use to sharpen them?

        • Any difference between the multi coloured or the regular stain steel? Besides color that is.
I wasn’t sure if the stones or the angles are the same.

          • @jallen89: The Global is 2 stones, the Minosharp is 3.
I'd say it has a more aggressive one in there. I have the Global stainless one and it's fine for touch ups. Still needs going over on a proper stone every now and then IMO. It doesn't cut an edge to sharpen on to the blade like a full set of stones would. Maybe the Minosharp one does…

      • thanks man, what u think about hoooning vs sharpening?

        • This thing basically hones rather than sharpens anyway. Need a stone if you want to sharpen

Very doubtful that this sharpener will do a good job.
I tried various sharpeners like this and ended up going back to traditional whetstone .

    • +1

not everyone has a skill to sharpen knife with whetstone.

this type of sharpener is easy to use for fast result.

    • +1

Minosharps go a great job for the non-enthusiast who lacks the time or desire to learn how to use a manual whetstone.

  • Nice knife for the home kitchen. Good feel, nice weight. Easy to use accurately. Ours seems to keep a decent edge with only an occasional use of a steel.

  • Mine got corrosion. How to fix that

Don't put it in the dishwasher?

      • I did and didn't knew about that.

Rub with baking soda slurry on a wet rag. Next autosol with fine steel wool or scourer. Try those first..

      • Thanks. I will give a try

  • Anthony Bourdain's go to knife. 😥

If you dont want to or dont have the skill to use a stone. Buy one of these, it will stay flawlessly sharper than new for many many years. They are amazing.
