Was keeping an eye on this charger since I missed out from this year's Prime day sales.

It has now dropped in price, but not as cheap as the Prime day sale ($4.09 more than cheapest ever).

More comments about this charger here and here.

I really like Anker stuff but find it a bit weird they never seem to list PPS as a feature think this’s the first time I’ve noticed it

  • Bought two of these at the last amazon sale, really liking them. Use them for the bedside tables when charging phone, watch and ipad. Very helpful only having to use one power socket rather than a powerboard + 3 individual usb charging blocks for each device for both bedside tables.
Blue light is discrete especially at night when trying to sleep.

Also took one of them when travelling, very helpful when hotel rooms have limited wallsockets and no powerboards also was handy at the airport when misses and I had to charge our phones and ipads.

    Max 45w charging

I think they're being a bit ambitious at best when they explicitly state it can charge a macbook. At worst they're being outright misleading. It'll charge it, but only when you're not using the laptop.

    • The MacBook Air comes with a 35W charger in the box.

    • I have an M1 Pro Macbook and it runs fine on a 45W charger - normally draws 10-20 watts (on a fully-charged battery, using apps or watching video or doing development work). I can even run it off a 18W charger in my car without the battery dropping, as long as I'm just sending emails or watching youtube.

Older macbooks were definitely less energy efficient though. And the M1 Max at absolutely full power will draw more than 45W, for sure.

  • Does anyone know if it would charge a MacBook Pro 14inch M1 Pro?

Only trickle-charge. And only if you're not using it at the same time.

        I wouldn't call 45W "trickle-charge".

Here are comments from people who have used low-wattage chargers with their MBP.

    • I have an M1 Pro Macbook, 14". I often run it on a 45W charger and it works fine.
The laptop only draws 10-20W during basic usage (editing files and docs, watching youtube, etc), so there's plenty left over to charge with.

If you often render videos or play games, then it won't charge at the same time, but will run the laptop.

  • Bah, was waiting to buy because I messed up my gift card purchase and now OOS ;_;

If Amazon is OOS, try their eBay store and submit an offer for the same price (or less). That’s what I did last time they were on sale and they accepted it pretty quickly.

    eBay listing

    • They auto-declined all my offers lol. Ah well worth a shot

      • What were they so we know their limits?

        • The highest was 59.99. With $2 postage you’re already paying more than this deal
