[Price Error] Roborock S7 MaxV Robot Vacuum (With Auto Empty Docking Station) - Black $1589 Delivered @ Mobileciti via Catch

Moved to Forum: Original Link

While this is not the ULTRA, it seems to be the same price as the standard S7 MaxV, but includes the Auto Emptying dock that comes normally with the standard S7?
I can't see this deal or offering anywhere else. Is this pretty good if you don't need to ULTRA dock?

Mod: Listing error, did not come with dock.

    Pardon my ignorance
    $1600 vacuums are a bargain?

IMHO a $600 vacuum will to 90% of the operations of this including auto emptying.

    • I agree, I purchase two Dream D10s for less and I bet this an s7 would have no chance against two

    • +1

Yeah agreed, $600 on sale for an S6 would be much better value.

Assuming OP vacuums once a week with the robot+dock, he is paying the robot about $4 each time it automatically empties.

    • Some of the deals on here with 500+ votes are for getting a free $2 despite it taking 5+ minutes of work to activate.

This one is really just compared to what it would be normally. There will always be people to pay significantly more for 10% extra, and companies know it.

I have the two S7 MaxV's - but (effectively) paid $1119 each plus about $35 each back on cashrewards. So this deal would be $470 for autoempty which I consider a lot for that convenience.

      • Do you find it's easy to manage the dust bin and water to mop, without the docks, or do you not use the mop?

        • +1

Dustbin (0.5L) for me fills up for about 4 rooms worth of 1 week old dust. Easy to handle.

I don't use the mop cause it's kind of more like pushing a wet cloth around rather than scrubbing the floor.

        • +1

I actually prefer manually emptying a small bin - very easy to rescue anything valuable sucked up before it's tossed.

I do always mop - the water tank lasts a floor (half carpet, half wood). I have to carry the unit to the other floor so it's not like I can set and forget anyway. (The second unit I bought was for mum.)

  • You just missed the Afterpay Deal - $1285.49 Delivered

If you have eBay Plus, it's currently $1510.49 Delivered @ Mobileciti eBay - with code PLUSAUG1

EDIT: Appears that the Catch One comes with 'With Auto Empty Docking Station', but it's the same seller (MobileCiti) and same based price ($1589), so YMMV.

    • The Afterpay deal that I posted was without the dock. I believe this is a very good deal if you don't need the ultra dock

I realised after, so I added an edit.

    this or Hibiki 21 Y.O.

    • you got your priorities right!

      What's hibiki? Your son/daughter name?

Mine is 4yo, and no, her name not Hibiki

  • Dreame Z10 Pro is on a Fathers Day deal right now for $899. We started using it last week and are very happy with it. Can't see myself paying $700 for this one.

I'm confused, my current model "Woodhouse" cost me like $400 or so a few years back and still does a good job… this is quite shocking!

  • Anyone explain why this model is so expensive? What does this do that the $600-800 range can’t?

    • +1

I think the mop lift, carpet sensing, auto empty… , Better suction…
      You can compare here https://roborock.com.au/pages/product-compare
Is it worth more than double, maybe not, but I think there are overall improvements too.

    • Thanks for both links

Bought this on amazon prime day for $1119 - $70 Cashrewards. The s7 maxv mopping much better, have camera to see where is it or find something under bed. Vacuum is just same as dreame z10 pro on tiles and wood floors. But for bathroom mat/carpet, Dreame z10 is better. It jumped on then vacuum vs dragging them like s7maxv. I have to use nano tape :(

Don't think the ultra dock is necessity, just another thing that can break down. Camera is more a gimmick than anything, reviews show it's still gets caught on things like shoe laces and forums says it still drags poo around.

I think the s7 would be a better option and cheaper.

    • Thats good as this is not the ULTRA dock 😀 I like the idea of a camera though to check parts of the house when you are away on extended holidays

  • Almost got a $2400 ecovacs X1 over the weekend, glad I didn't pull the trigger. This is a much better deal even though it doesn't have the water refill feature

    • Do you know how often the water needs refilling? If it's after each mopping session, does that defeat some of the set and forget benefit of the auto-empty dock? If you need to remember to fill up the water each time it runs, is it much more effort to empty the dust container?
It seems like the mopping function is a significant feature that sets this apart from others so if you weren't going to use the mop then something like the Z10 Pro for $899 would seem to make more sense for a set and forget vacuum.

So….I ordered this bundle from catch and it just got delivered today….BUT there was no auto empty dock. Upon contacting Mobileciti via Catch, they had no inkling this listing included the dock and requested screenshots showing the expected inclusion.

Has anyone else ordered and had a similar experience?

    • Well it's official, confirmed it's a pricing error from Mobileciti rep.

      https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/46465/97894/bd99a975-1…

I'll be getting a refund as this is not a deal.

      • I am in the same boat! So disappointed and yes they said the same exact thing. Is there anything we can chase up with catch? make them accountable for the listing error or just bite the bullet and return it? I already got my return label…

        • I ordered the same deal but through the roborock link on catch (was $10 more but I was suspicious this may happen). My delivery arrived today and I've messaged roborock directly. I'll definitely be insisting they send the dock otherwise it is false advertising. They can be the ones to recoup any loss from catch

          • +1

@K8P: Isn't an acceptable remedy to false advertising offering a full refund? Otherwise all price errors would be false advertising and required to be honored.

            • -1

@thestig: It wasn't a pricing error though, they advertised a product to be included and then it was not delivered. The advertised products should be honored

              • +1

@K8P: I contacted Roborock directly (had used their link on Catch, not Mobileciti) and took a few emails but I now have the dock
