Yes it’s not the newest Cricut Maker 3, but this one does pretty much the same stuff except for the smart materials, and for way cheaper.

Looks to be only for the lilac colour. Plenty of stock at my local store when I popped in, and plenty showing up online.
Are you looking at cutting clear acrylics?
More so coloured acrylics such as metallic gold, silver and rose gold and black. Typical cake topper colours.
A possible alternative is to look at a small laser cutter for plywood or something, cut your designs and process that into a mould for food safe resins.
I reckon you could probably get away with one of those 20w cutters that get advertised. They don't need water-cooling. I would recommend having a good well ventilated space as burning acrylic stinks horribly.
Would you recommend this over Explore 3?
The Maker is able to use more tools because it can exert "10x more downward pressure". If you need to engrave or use the knife blade, you'd have to go this direction.
The Explore 3 is able to use, "Smart Materials", but I prefer cheap materials.
I'd say the Maker is worth more than the Explore 3, but it might do just fine depending on the materials you're using.

Damn I was looking at this to make my own cake toppers and I was researching cutters, but this is not strong enough for 2mm-3mm acrylic. I need a laser cutter but I don't have space for air vent and water cooler. Oh well..
