Does seem to be a good price for this funky looking SSD. Congrats on your first post.

    • +2

Yeah I think the added casing is a bit more interesting than the plain metal.

      • +3

This is actually IP65 and shock proof vs the plain metal being….just plain metal.

        • Any why do we need shock proof ssds? I thought it was hard drives we were all worried about dropping

          • @Jackson: Waterproof and shock proof great for any maritime or water bound pc activity :)

  • +9

    If an SSD had
A chance with someone like you
Are you gonna break his heart?
Let him cry for the moon?

    Electric blue

  • +1

Yeah, i'll give you an upvote.

  • -2

    Comparable but Crucial is cheaper

    • +2

Speeds yes, T7 is IP65 so has the added water protection.
How often is that needed is probably slim for the average user but if it's tossed into bags with drink bottles might be a worthy feature

    • +5

Not comparable, Samsung uses TLC versus Crucial QLC. That $40 difference is well spend for most people unless QLC suits your specific use case.

    • +1

Its just a P1 inside, you know, the cheapest and slowest that Crucial has to offer.

  • +1

Looks like it’s dropped ever so slightly. Not gonna sweat $1 or so 🙃

    • It's probably just changes in exchange rates, and therefore currency conversions.

  • +2

    Is this bulletproof?

    • +6

It's fine here but not safe in the US ;)

    • Alec?

  • Good share. Thank you. I was looking for one.

  • Thanks mate, been watching the price for these for a while and I just bought one.

  • +1

Good price, the regular one is probably fine for most people, 2/3 as thick also … need another special ;)

    • I'm also waiting for the slimmer version & good price

  • +1

    Now $254.79

    • Damm should I cancel and reorder?

      It's already shipped hmmm

Edit: Just did it! LOL Save $10 but have to go to post office to return.

      • But this is not eligible for the free return I think.

        • It is

  • what is the warranty on the drive and who honours the warranty - amazon au or uk?

wow awesome! I made two return orders. LOL

  • Wth damn this thing just keeps dropping haha.

Tried to get them to refund the difference but they said they can’t on that order. Only option is to buy again and return the original order. Oh well.

    • The black is down to 242.13. Blue OOS.

  • Want but have absolutely no use case lol

For anyone following along, or was on the fence about this vs a regular drive .. I really like these Shield ones. Feels a lot more solid than just a drive in a silicon sleeve and barely makes the drive any bigger in terms of bulk. 10/10, would buy again.
