Australian Wine Writer, Ken Gargett: "I'll be honest. I had no idea of the price when I first looked at this wine. When I later discovered it was only $18, I just about fell off the chair. This is a serious contender for the white wine bargain of the year. Sourced from a range of South Australian regions, it is never going to be mistaken for a wine offering the complexity of Montrachet, but that is not what it is about. An absolute crowd pleaser, full of flavour. Gin clear in colour, this has notes of melon, stonefruit and nuts. A leaner and fresher style than many, and all the better for it. Good focus, bright acidity, this is a seamless style with a seductive texture. And did I mention the value? 92."

Vineyard: Single vineyard, sourced from the Klavenik vineyard on McMurtrie Road in McLaren Vale close to the Bec Hardy cellar door. This is a fresh, modern style of the classic Australian white variety.

    Still going strong - loving his vineyard work and some other interests (including Elders Day with our daughter Matilda yesterday at school) as well as his Adelaide Hills label. Not so much a step back just pursuing other interests as well as wine.

    Which vintage Over The Top? I have a 2015 on my desk for dinner this evening with the team.

        hahaha - don't worry I have a 2020 Tipsy Hill Cabernet Sauvignon which I opened at cellar door today when we were looking at the 2021 which is going to bottle shortly. It's in the drinks holder of the ute ready to go with me too.:-))
        It's still got a few years left the 2015 it'll go for at least another six or seven years from memory of the last one I saw a few months ago. Will report back tomorrow.
