It's not worth it. Compare it to Disney, Amazon Prime and Paramount+ and others.

    • +6

For free I take it but I wouldn’t pay a dollar for it to be honest.

    • +3

I pay for it because I can access content I want to watch which isn't available in other services.

      • +3

Yup, just like saying apples are not worth it compared to oranges

        • -8

Are they not all streaming services? If we were comparing cinemas to binge then I can understand your comment. Otherwise you make no sense.

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: So do they all have same content? Can I watch Encanto on Binge? Can I watch GOT on Disney plus?

            • -3

@Pricebeat: Exactly! So you are comparing them choosing based on which service is most valuable to you. Using that same methodology binge doesn't have as much to offer for that price compared to other services. That's my point.

              • +2

@[Deactivated]: Again you are saying apples are not worth it compared to oranges and as per your analogy aren’t they all just fruits?

            • @Pricebeat: Binge don’t like Bruno. So no

            • @Pricebeat: Nah they're all in Plex

    • +1

Anything is better than giving your money to murdoch.

    • +2

What are you talking about? Paramount+ is absolutely garbage it barely has any content on it compared to binge. I agree in regards to Disney and Amazon prime but binge has a heap of good shows including Mr inbetween, house of the dragon Etc.

    • binge is my No2 service after Disney+. I hate that its murdoch though but the content is vastly improved from what it was a year ago

    • +3

Can you get it for me now?

        • Why paying for it?

Means you are saying tou have a way to get it free for us now

    • +4

"Why would you pay for it? 6 months ago I got it for free on a deal that is no longer available. So you should all go back in time and get that too."

      (profanity).

There are guys within the old post who are happy to share one of the free accounts.

  • My daughter just subscribed for $10/mth, $120/yr. SD but she only watches on iPad so doesn't make much difference.

  • +4

Basic Binge membership is only $10/month anyway. I get this is for a year of their ‘standard’ membership but who wants to commit to 12 months of that ?

  • +2

    Helllllllllllll no.

  • Nobody should be signing up for this service.
We need to take a stand to the monopoly Foxtel/binge have, which has resulted in them putting minimal effort into their streaming service. Full HD is only a relatively recent addition to their service, when everyone else is moving to 4K.
Forcing you to watch big name shows in HD unless you pay for a foxtel IQ box to be installed in your home is disgusting and should be ridiculed as such.

    • To be fair, awkwardly named as it is, "Full HD" is only 1080. Foxtel and Binge have had that for a good while. Well, Fox might be 1080i on some shit actually, but still.

      • My point was, that Foxtel/Binge were introducing 1080p/Full HD at the time that other services were already moving to 4K.
And further to that, to watch the new GoT series in Australia, legitimately, the only way to see it in 4K is to purchase/rent an IQ set top box from Foxtel.
I don’t know how this isn’t an outrage to the broader public, that someone with enough money to buy the distribution rights to so many big name shows, invests so little into actually broadcasting it in a modern way.

        • Oh, Foxtel is dogshit for literally more reasons than I could quickly count.

But like, 1080 is good enough for the majority of the masses. I have three 4K teles in the house now, only 1080 one left is in the attic, and one in storage. I don't give a shit tbh. Once my free year of Binge runs out, I'd likely let it stay cancelled, but 10 bucks here and there to resub the odd time they get something worth watching like Euphoria in a year or two, or Dragon season 2, like, eh, it's still the same show. Unless I was watching 247, I couldn't care less if the show looks kinda eh for an hour a week. I'd have to imagine there's a shitload of people out there like that too, hell, there's plenty of people who happily still watch SD FTA TV.

That being said, it's no excuse for Foxtel, you wanna charge that much, you should be leading the charge and demoing 8K channels, not (profanity) trialling 4K in 2022.

  • Never wanted Netflix . Can't find the Hbomax app on my LG tv ! Any hints please ?

    • +2

Move to America? It doesn't exist here.

Maybe sideload with vpns or something on Android…

    • LG app store is region locked. You can use Google or Apple TV to get HBO Max and other region based apps. I use Apple TV + DNS for HBO Max.
