The NSW government have announced that Commonwealth Concession card holders can get 10 free RAT tests from Service NSW centres and recovery centres. Previously there was a Federal Government program that allowed concession card holders to get them from pharmacies, however that ended on the 31st of July.

You can find pickup locations here. There are 113 service centres and 4 Mobile Service Centres or Disaster Recovery Centres across the State.

The program will run until the end of October 2022. Eligible Commonwealth Concession Card holders in NSW include:

  • Pensioner Concession card
  • Commonwealth Seniors Health Care card
  • Health Care Card (including Low Income Health Care card)
  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold, White or Orange cards

              I'm immunocompromised that's why I was lucky enough to get molnupiravir. That stuff works amazingly well.

              Yea, my elderly relative(with like 4 comorbidities) was prescribed that too. He felt like absolute crap for the first few days that he got covid, but was back to 100% within 3 days of finishing his molnupiravir prescription.

      You isolate, like people should be doing when they know they have the flu. I used to work at a dominos and the hero store manager came in dripping with flu ones and knocked out half the staff. The store owner wanted him to come in though, because the manager lived for his work and things get done when he is around. But when he had the flu he was too sick to do anything except make other people sick, the dude was pale and dripping with sweat, he could barely stand.

          I feel like if the manager did have a test and took it and it was positive, then the owner would have felt obliged to tell him to stay home. Flu costs billions every year so maybe there should be a test and a social norm that says you must isolate if you have the flu. I mean there is that norm already, but maybe it would be observed more often.

            There's no denying there are issues with current media, relationships with advertisers which are often big pharma. The thing with people like Yeadon is that he makes claims which can't be backed and are disproven. From a skim read of articles on him - colleagues think he has changed and interviewers are not impressed with him.

            He didn't deny the whole magnetism thing. Do you really think a vaccine could make a person magnetic?

    I had wuhan virus last year. It was ok. Cough runny nose and sore throat. That was it. Then I had flu few months later and it was worse than wuhan virus. I know many friends who had wuhan virus and were fine and we all are just puzzled by extreme lockdowns and penalties etc and whole economic crisis because of lockdowns and God knows what else harm it caused.

Long list of vaccine injury deaths and permanent damage caused by it for a disease mainly affecting obese people and people who had co morbidities.         Is that including all the people already morbidly ill, already in hospital, that got Covid in hospital and died from their existing condition, yet still get a tick in the Covid box as well?

        There has been some magic done with numbers if you scratch under the surface, but one thing we know for sure is that the total numbers of deaths is a rounding error. Certainly not worth destroying the global economy for, nor the future impact it will have on half a generation of kids that will live with the effects of development disruptions due to lock-downs and forced mask wearing.

    Pretty sickening to read a lot of the comments here. Do people actually think Covid doesn't exist and isn't dangerous? I know a handful of people who got it, were in pain and recovered in a week or two but I also know people who have permanent heart damage because of it, young, heathy and active people. Just because you were one of the lucky ones and got off easy doesn't mean it's not real or that it's over. The biggest point of reflection during this pandemic is the freak "non believers" up rising. Honestly I don't want to share a planet with them. They are out there and will only cause issues. What a strange world we live in now.

      I think Covid is not much worse than the Flu and the draconian measures put in place to try and control the uncontrollable have and will cause far more damage long term.
      The government admitted that these measures had no cost benefit analysis done on them and were not based on any science but rather 'public perception'.

      You read too much fake news. I worked for the Health Dept during the peak authoritarianism period and it had very little to do with science and almost everything to do with politics. An example is NSW Health counting those already in hospital without Covid, that caught Covid in hospital, as being part of increased Covid hospitalisations. I can't recall the exact number but it was significant, like at least 1/2 of all hospitalisations were people already in hospital that were conveniently added to the numbers to make it look as bad as possible.

      The uprising of which you speak is more people becoming aware of theses types of charade. If YOU want to be afraid and live in fear then YOU are free to do that. But don't force ME to play your silly games.

    Just another awful response from the government, since nobody looks at the science of new reports coming out. Covid is politicized these days.
    How about giving away N95 masks or hand sanitizers to the people that are entitled here (most vulnerable), prevention is always better!
    And research shows that a N95 mask is at least 70-80 effective at preventing infection.

    Instead waste tax payers money that doesn't actually help people much in these tests.

          I think you mean to say there is no cure for covid. There's certainly ways to treat covid like Sotrovimab and molnupiravir.

          There's plenty of other tests that must be done for things that have no cure. Take my cancer for example. My CgA levels are always elevated in tests, but there's no cure. Only treatment.

          So RATs have their purpose. They certainly help confirm if people have covid and can prevent the spread to more vulnerable people. Like nursing homes for example.
