I have the v3 and am very happy with them, they added NC, ambient mode, and wireless charging.
The case is chunky which is the main drawback.
They are $59.95 at the moment which is also a good price.

    • How do you go with your buds charging? I've got the Outlier Gold and trying to get my left bud charging for a period of time is a task. I need to take it out then in all the time

      • They charge fine, magnets hold them in place.
There has been one time where a bud wasn't charging properly, but that was due to the contracts needing a clean. I used alcohol and a qtip to clean the contracts, send to have sorted it out.

      • I've noticed this with my Outlier Pro too.
I haven't purchased any other Creative products recently but I feel that the Outlier is just not the standard I would have expected.
Especially knowing them since the SB16 days.

      • I had this issue as well even with the V3 + V2 gold models…seems like build quality is an issue from my experience

        • I have had my outlier air v3 buds since this deal in September last year, using them since then almost every day - to me they have been very reliable.

Have the V3 and so far they are rock solid and great bang for buck. Charges quickly, good enough NC to use for wfh meetings and can last over 5 hours on single charge.. Recommend for $60.

      • I have the same issue charging one of the buds as well

    • +1

I agree. The buds are actually good but the case is annoying af when traveling as it's so damn bulky.

  • is the 12 hour play time 6 in each … or 12 per bud?

    • +1

It's 12 hours per bud. You are meant to use them together at the same time with both in your ears.

After a couple hours research, ended up buying these.
    $25 at checkout.

    • These were going for $100 on aliexpress. I picked some up on amazon too, same price as you at checkout (15% off coupon). Great reviews everywhere. Thanks for the recommendation.

Watch out for faulty battery units.

The tiny batteries in these TWS earphones lose charge quickly, so they cannot keep stock for very long which is why you see the huge discounts.
I saw 2 other models which were originally priced $80~$90, but were on sale for $9.99 and $13.99. I purchased one of each model and both had faulty battery when testing them after full charge. The battery would not last for more than 20 seconds before "Low battery" warning and no more audio.
I returned both to Amazon quite easy and afterwards there were many negative reviews that experienced the same issue.

I am not saying it will definitely happen to you but make sure you test them straight away and return if faulty.

        • Thanks for the advice. Not sure why I got downvoted.

Often I'll check the price on aliexpress to compare with amazon. A lot of these electronics are sold on both sites, and I have noticed in the last 2 years that the prices have become more competitive.

With buying cheap electronics on aliexpress (in general from a lot of chinese companies), you get what you paid for. Those low prices reflect the quality. I still buy often from aliexpress as I love the platform and I've found some awesome items.

I am concerned that the reason they are this price is because they have been on a shelf/in a box for 2 years waiting to sell, and that has degraded the battery capacity. Also the review count and score was the same in Australia as in Japan, so the reviews aren't isolated to a particular region.

I paid $30 for my realme buds Q two years ago, and they have held up really good with a great charge still. Often I have to reset them because one pairs and the other doesn't. Apart from that, I'm buying a second pair because I need a second pair.

Thanks for the advice and I'll test them and return them if they don't deliver.

          • @DarthAntz: Yeah I buy some things from AliExpress too. If you know what to look for I think it's fine, I haven't bought any electronics from AliExpress though.

"Often I'll check the price on aliexpress to compare with amazon."

Regarding this though, recently I noticed overall prices have been slightly higher on AliExpress compared to Amazon AU for the same product.
An example, as you said these TWS were going for $100 on AliExpress. But on Amazon AU they were probably originally going for around $80~$90.

This has been my experience recently anyway with all kinds of items when I checked AliExpress thinking I could get a much better price. I think AliExpress sellers have been inflating their prices compared to say a year ago.

            • @harshbdmmaster718: I think its a reflection of the stress Chinese sellers are under during the pandemic. I was expecting to find those TWS from a few sellers, but it was just the one. Sellers are abandoning aliexpress and going straight to amazon in foreign markets. It's working. As a result, the sellers are using amazon prices as their price check too.

              Good luck

Not exactly sure they are moving that quick to Amazon, since apparently it's not that easy to get on Amazon's favorable side e.g. "Fulfilled by Amazon".
I always go for those which are Fulfilled by Amazon because it means the items sold have a good enough track record e.g. acceptable standard of overall quality and lower failure/faulty rate.
But yes if they are confident in their items, sellers and factories will likely move over to Amazon. I have definitely noticed AliExpress sellers jumping over to Ebay and Etsy, due to the identical listed products and images.

Got mine earlier today (A1’s), were almost fully charged, topped them up, connected to phone and been playing for 3 hours straight and battery indicator on phone (not sure how accurate that is) shows it’s about 3/4 full still

    • Interested to know why you went with these over the creatives

    • 2 out of 3 reviews I just read on the front page of google aren’t really encouraging. Are you sure it’s the A1’s linked and not the t10 or t6?

Obviously they’re $25 so not going to expect miracles, tie will tell, I ordered them also :)

  • Thanks OP, just order 1, good gift :)

  • Why no PO Boxes?

    • Hey, we do deliver to PO boxes now with AU POST. Have updated the FAQs!

      • "We are unable to deliver to P.O. boxes" on the checkout page

        • Oops so sorry! It's fixed now. Let us know if you still encounter any issues

  • Absolutely love my V1's. Last a long time with great sound, but have always wanted the new Pro's - they are also on Promo for $99.95 so just grabbed those. Yay!
