Doesn't look legal to ride in most states.

      • -2

Incorrect. This one is also not legal in Queensland..

Qld max speed for a rideable is 25kmph.

This scooter has a top speed of 22mph (approx 35 kmph)

        • -1

The scooter has a limited speed of 25km/h which makes it legal. If you remove the speed limit via the app you'll get up to 30km and that's where it becomes illegal on private roads.

        • Hi clandestino, our factory has put speed limit (to 25 km/h) for both Kugoo M2 Pro and G5 that are selling in Australia, while they are having the same powerful motors as other countries. Thanks.

    • A guy had one on a train here in melb yesterday. As he exited, he thought he'd be funny and beep the horn but then his scooter got collected by the door and I laughed

Thanks for the sharing, could imagine how awkward he was…. :)

  • waiting for G6 - fly like a G6, like a G6

    • Shh….MechanicalCanine, please do not disclose any confidential information here. :)

  • So this is legal but one aspect that matter is speed? If max is under xxx then its legal? (Different for each state)

    • They have to be limited to 25km/h to be road legal. Pretty much all of them can be unlocked to go faster and thus become "illegal". Very easy to switch my scooters back to 25km/h if needed to.

only illegal if you get caught….
Also many use these on parks, trails, city etc…
Cops don't even have resources to do their normal jobs, this is last thing on their list.

However, the only issue you face is in case of an accident, since it's illegal, you are not covered..

    • Not illegal where I live.

  • What does the scooter weigh?

    • +1

      Hi messmorph,

M2 Pro: 15.5kg (net weight), 18.8kg (gross weight)
      G5: 23kg (net weight), 26.5kg (gross weight)

  • Rules change overnight !

fingers crossed it is moving toward where we expected.

  • Would one of these be OK to do letterbox deliveries.

    • Hi paulaus, thanks for the interest. We could deliver to any physical address (house or apt.) but not the PO box (given the size / value of the product).

      • +1

I think he referring to doing catalogue and newspaper delivery. to letter box.

Thanks Chicken feed, it makes more sense now. :)

Yes of course paulaus, electric scooters bring great convenience to the riders especially for those short-range travelling / commuting (without carrying heavy stuffs - as they don't have trunk) while we still would recommend following the local regulation on e-mobility tools.
