Sony A7 IV Body $3023.20 Delivered @ digiDirect eBay

180
DIGISAV

Slightly cheaper than the previous best deal for Australian stock: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/713160

So long as stock available on the listing, Sony will price match. Reason for price match is to take advantage of the following:

a) Amex has a spend $550, get $100 back offer for purchases through Sony online store; and
b) Cashrewards 4% rebate / Shopback 5% rebate. YMMV but most people have been successful in obtaining a rebate even with the price match.

Wow back in stock pretty quick, I probably should have waited before getting mine…

I bought two pricematched cameras from Sony in July (separate transactions) and both my cashbacks were approved and paid out.

May I know is it from shopback or cashrewards.
I bought it through shopback back in July and they didnt honor the cashback. 😩

      • +1

Ah sorry didn't clarify it was cashrewards. Damn, I was hoping Shopback would be safe but seems like this whole situation with cashback has been a mess with both of them!

      • +1

Same here. Sony's lame excuse to Cashrewards was that I have claimed from another provider. Which is completely untrue. Sony did price match with DigiDirect but didn't honour the Cashback rewards. Feels like a massive waste of money now. :(

  • cameras are getting more and more expensive. my A7R purchased back in 2014 had RRP of 2499 lol.. even came with a battery grip.

    • +1

Probably because cameras are becoming more of a niche since phones are good enough for most people.

    • The a7iii predecessor was $3099 when released and that does not include inflation.

I would not consider the older cameras comparable (different body, lower capacity battery, less features, etc) though the first generation did include a lot of nice add-ons like the Metabones adapter.

Sony may have been selling at loss or skinnier margins in the pursuit of market share.

      • +2

Sony were definitely buying market share when the first A7 series was introduced, the free Metabones adapters was a brilliant strategy to entice other brand owners to buy a A7 body that allowed them to use their existing lens while Sony started to build up their own lens line up.

Their margin situation would have been pretty bad as result but look were they are now.

Not true… getting cheaper all the time

  • Im chasing the a7 iii, any deals on that?

    • +1

Hasn't been a decent sale on it for a long time.

Obviously there will be limits to one's budget but it doesn't feel like a good buy to me at 2.3k when the A7 IV is hitting 3k.

  • Now back in stock. Today is the last day to use eBay coupon.
