I'd pay extra to get non-RGB

Just bite the RGB strip with your teeth like a champ.

I bought those to pair with a 5 series AMD and couldn't get them to run at their advertised spec stably. Got it refunded and got Corsair instead which has run without issues. Wouldn't recommend Patriot RAM.

        • I had the RGB version of these (3600Mhz as well) https://www.amazon.com.au/Patriot-Viper-Gaming-DDR4-3600MHz/…. Also had the same issue where they wouldn't run at their full 3600Mhz without a lockup. Would only run at 3200Mhz regardless of what voltage/timing changes I made.

        • I have that exact one (but in 2x 8gb) and they work fine at advertised speed after changing infinity fabric clock to 1800

        • yeah i also had an issue with that ram kit working with my 5800x, it's a known issue for that kit to not run well with ryzen. couldn't get it refunded since I brought it second hand but runs at 3200 mhz just fine.

no matter how much tinkering and research it wont and will not run at 3600 mhz :(

You can turn it off in software

Be sure to send Pheobus your payID

    • Is that because of the issues with SPD corruption from RGB software causing borked machines and RMAs or just the look?
Putting the RGB control on the same system management bus that writes to the SPD probably wasnt the best idea in history.

  • Does anyone have success running either the Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32GB or Patriot Viper Gaming RGB Series 32GB on an MSI B450M Mortax Max at 3600Mhz without lockup?

    • The Patriot viper gaming will most definitely lock up unless you can find that exact model on the motherboards support ram spec sheet. I wouldn't recommend it and would go with a ram set that is on the spec sheet.

  • These look very tall, are they likely to have clearance issues with large coolers?

    • They certainly would not fit under a Bequiet dark rock pro 4 that's for sure,
I've got two kits , separate G.Skill F4-3200CL16-8GTZR, which although they're 3200 CL16, run fine at up to 4000mhz at CL18-22-22-22-42-85, however for the 5900x that blows my IF clock, so they're faster at 3600Mhz 18-20-20-20-42-64 @ 1.35V, although as I recall they were about $200 per 16gb pair way back. I've had better results with one kit on an older X470 mobo than the other kit on my newer B550mITX, both with the same CPU.

Even though these kits were Hynix, I'm still very impressed that a 3200 CL16-18-18-18-38-56 will push to these speeds (the X470 managed to keep these timings at 3600, but for some reason the B550 needed them loosened, not sure what's going on but there's a chance my kits were bought at different times and one is better than the other.

I really want a decent 32gb or 64 gb 2 slot kit for the B550m, so I can put those 4 all back onto the X470, at the moment thought the ones I really want are over $700 (g.skill elite royal CL14 - wow)

I have these : G.Skill F4-3200CL16-8GTZR - cannot find them on sale anymore!

    • will cause issues with cooler with non-adjustable fans.

  • I have some LPX, and I'm not interested in RGB. Would these be the same thing, with RGB? … And be fully compatible with the LPX?
