Beat Saber, the only game you really need.

    • +10

Superhot. Nowhere near the longevity of Beat Saber but such a good game.

      • +7

Pistol Whip. More physically involving than either.

        • My legs were in pain the next day since it's hard to realise you're squatting most of the time.

      • Superhot can be too hard sometimes.

        • Beat Saber can be too hard sometimes 🤷‍♂️

Never played Beat Saber. Don't think I'll ever will.

      • +3

once you play you cant stop.

        • +1

Eh…..nope. I have it (was free), played it and find it boring so it is not for everyone. Prefer the likes of Pistol Whip.

          • @Borg: Exactly. I know it is a very popular game, but it's not an idea of fun to everyone standing there swinging your arms around like an idiot XD

        Thanks for letting us know.

Never played Dreamhouse Adventures. Don't think I'll ever will.

    • +3

Half-Life: Alyx is a must-play if you have a PC that can support it.

  • HODL. You can wait until the new iteration and you know it.

    • +3

New model won't be a replacement, but a higher tier model. Quest 2 will be around for a while yet.

      • just spend the extra and get the latest and greatest. everyone is cashed up nowadays anyway.

buying this after a ~$150 price hike and the unit is a couple years old now… just doesn't make sense

        • There wasn't much profit when @$479 if any at all but I am guessing and with Meta taking over account management from Facebook, perhaps more $$ also required from their side???

I'm thinking of selling my Quest 2 at this point - It's a great headset, but if I sell it soon before the much more niche and expensive Cambria comes out, I could put the money towards that one instead. Probably a good time to do that!

    • Cool story, bro 👍

Yeah.. Seems hard to justify this price. I haven't used my Quest 2 in a while personally but I bought it a while back for much less than this and now there are talks of the Quest Pro coming out soon. Seems best to wait until the Quest Pro at this point and see how that model compares.

The quest pro / cambria won't be competition to this. It's looking to be around 1200usd, with comparatively minor upgrades for a gaming experience.

Expect a lighter weight headset, that does eye focusing which will be fairly useless in the shortterm. It will let your heavy streaming desktop games eventually have support to make them well… take advantage of that.

The games you play on it won't be significantly better, the resolution will likely be the same.

So a different category, the Quest 2 will still be there.

Also in quest 2 pricing, even though it has had an upgrade, it still has no peers below $1,000.

Even the ones that do, don't support a high refresh rate like 120hz, which is dreamy.

      • Ah that's true. It will be a much higher price point so I suppose the release of that shouldn't have too much of an impact on the Quest 2.
We might have to wait and see specs-wise though, maybe it will be a more significant bump than expected. Although would have to be a pretty big bump for someone considering a Quest 2 to go for the Quest Pro.

I still find it hard to justify the new higher price of the Quest 2, it's great if you'll get a lot of use out of it but it was a much better deal before. I guess the lack of competition in that price range is part of the reason they increased it.

Hey FACEBOOK, you are probably the all knowing and all seeing eye, so hopefully you can read this here I have some ideas for you.

Since you are clearing out all those Portal TV, Portal Go products at 70% off.
How about offering the Quest 2 at $629 with bonus free Portal TV and Portal Go. Shouldn't cost you much if you are selling them for $70 bux each anyway.
I don't know how good those Portal products are but it would certainly hurt less to pay the $629 for the Quest 2 after the price hike. Just an idea.
