  • If you're looking for a budget stove top, the k-mart one is actually good IMO. Currently $12

      Another Bialetti rip off.

Don't need to spend this much for a Chinese-made Italian-branded pot

Kmart has their anko branded stainless steel one for $12

I have the anko one and is great.
BTW the kmart pic shows it as grey, actually its shiny stainless steel

    • agree!

      Chinese-made Italian-branded pot v.s. Chinese-made Kmart-branded pot

I will go for the Kmart one for better value.

I had the Anko and it was a POS and only lasted 10 months. I'd rather get something that would last longer and not end up in landfill as quick

        • I've got my parents Bialetti from the 70's, used daily, just replacing rubbers every so often.

        • nice to know that you had anko. i used it for less than a month.

btw what did in anko go wrong?

    • +1

Of course it's cheaper to sell when you don't have to include the price you should be paying for someone else's design, eh?

For $20-40 more you do get slightly better quality and you're not supporting IP theft.

      • Good call to abbreviate to IP, it's a nice way to obscure how absurd the term "intellectual property" is.

      • I am more than happy to pay $100 if it was designed and manufactured in Italy. Before buying it from k-mart , i had an order for Musa from amazon, later realized that the all stainless steel ones are manufactured in china. So decided to go with KMart one.

Now good number of companies won't even design, rather they buy it from china and re-badge it as theirs. if it was IP protected, I don't think Kmat would have those in Australia.

        • How much research did you do?

What stainless was the brand name vs knock-off?
That matters since the water you're drinking is being boiled in that material.

What material are the plastic components?
          GFRP or ABS?

For an item I use everyday, I'll buy the one proven to last decades, amortization of the cost of each beverage across 25 years of the two is negligible and I prefer to support the brand even if they're currently manufacturing most or all of the product in another country.

If you really want Bialetti brand, and to be used on induction, Venus $50.37 would do the job as well.

    • I don't know why you'd go for the aluminium one over this one (or the Musa).
      It's $15 cheaper as well.
My 18 month old aluminium Brikka looks worse after each time I use it.
I have had a Musa for 4 years or so, still looks great inside and out.

  • Kmart one was pretty good. Just wish they had a smaller one

    • Not that big as you think. IMO its perfect for two person

  • Anyone know how many ml of coffee that is extracted out of this? I have the 3-cup moka express aluminium and all I get is 80ml of coffee out of it.

    • About 3 fiddy

  • Do you mean now made in Romania and not China?

  • Victoria’s Basement has it for $79, says made in Europe:
