  • @cnc Could you please confirm that only the sign up or enrollment needs to be initiated by the 30th to be eligible for the offer? And that the switch over to the selected provider can happen at a later point of time? It typically takes few weeks or even months for the gas connection to be switched and hence asking.

  • @cnc Signed up to transfer to OVO.

    Just received a call from mobile number 0480042381 saying I had signed up.

    Was told I need to provide my bank details before the process can continue.
    He said I did not provide that at sign up! Was not asked to.

    (At least that was what I think the man was saying - very hard to understand his strong Indian accent.)

    I said I would not provide that over the phone. Asked for another secure.way. He said that was the only way. He only offered to sign me up to another provider.

    Know Ovo charges in advance, so would need those details. But its far too dodgie to provide those to an anonymous stranger!!

      As you mentioned, Ovo (and couple of other providers) needs a payment method on file for direct debit, which needs to be provided during signup. We are in the process of automating that final bit too so customers can signup online end-to-end but until then our call centre staff are assisting customers to complete the signup process and still honour the gift card.

      We understand your concerns about providing banking details over the phone and would like to assure you that we handle customers' personal details with utmost care and according to the guidelines set by various governing bodies.

      But told my transfer had been cancelled.
      Asked they honour this offer. Nicholas checked with manager who approved it. He will be in contact about that.

      Provided bank details for direct debit (only required for OVO, as it's a prepaid service.

      All set up now.

      @cnc - please confirm my sign up though this offer. And that $150 will be honoured after transfer + 60d connection is completed.

        • Was disturbed by the unexpected call from a mobile number. Thought it was a scam. Confusion could have been avoided by message from C&C to expect a call!
          As recommended, checked with your office number.

          Especially after just watching this week's SBS Dateline program on Indian call centre scams (employees taking customer information, etc)!

          (I live in a diverse community, with great Indian neighbours. I've enjoyed living with people from India.)

          Just the caller had such a difficult accent to understand, talked quickly, & didn't clearly explain who he was calling on behalf of. Just that I had signed up for OVO through your service. And that there was no option of securely providing bank details, so tell me your bank details!
          Absolutely not!!

          Had expected OVO would request those billing details, when wasn't requested through your sign up.

          Told Nicolas of another omission in the signup process. Was corrected on the call.

          Seems C&C have some issues to correct.
