  • Got 34GN850, been looking for a cheap G-sync Monitor for a while. Thanks

  • +1

I bought 32GP850 for 679 from JB hi-fi 2 weeks back. Good monitor very fast, but there is some backlight when watching movies.

    • Bought a 27" for $549 last week. Also has some annoying back light bleed.

All monitors will have it unless you get an oled. Sad reality.

  • Had the 34G for a month and cant fault it.

  • I know $1500 on sale is still a big ask for a PC monitor but if you are going to outlay $1k on a monitor, isn't the Alienware OLED the clear choice at a financial stretch? Just reading some PC Mag reviews and it sounds like performance monitors are all going to be OLED in a few years, much like the major electronic retailers are going to start only stocking OLED TVs shortly, now that there are 4 production technologies entering the market, up from 1. It is possibly exaggerating but LED could be a bit like CRT, LCD and Plasma shortly.

    • It's also the first of its kinda really in that format.. So I think most people are fine with the sub 1k mark on a tried and true tech rather than being the 'first adopters' of the new tech.

There's been some other issues regarding text clarity etc as well on the new model due to the subpixel arrangement. I reckon gen ~3 of this type of display would be the time to buy personally.

Mate has the LG 34" and loves it, I've only used it briefly but it's great at an initial impression.

    • Agreed, no point in spending 1k on something that you’re going to keep for 4 (or more) years when it’s already outdated now. Displays aren’t going to get much better than the Alienware OLED anytime soon

  • Good to know - didn't know there was any negative feedback regarding text clarity. I definitely need text to be clear for work & web surfing etc. Yeah prices should hopefully come down too for OLED with product improvements. I just think the next monitor I buy whether now or down the track will have to be OLED. I won't be buying anything for a year or so only of use.

ips is a great choice always

    • Not always. It's my pick, but some people can't handle it because of the glow that shows up on black when the room is dark.

  • any good price on LG 28MQ780-B?

  • How does this compare to the Dell G3223D 31.5" for $429? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/720617

  • How is this one:

    LG Ultragear 32GN650-B - VA but HDR10 and 32" https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09K74XZGQ/?th=1

    Compared to

    LG 27GP850-27 - IPS but HDR400 and 27" https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09K34DN6K/?th=1

    • +1

I have a similar VA the 32GN600-B it ghosts REALLY bad. not just blacks, everything.

      • +1

I have a 32" VA Viewsonic 144Hz and it ghosts REALLY bad.. ONLY white on blacks.. FPS shooting games are not the best on VA everything else is fine

        • That type of ghosting never bothered me that much, but when the entire panel is ghosting its shit. IPS panel uniformity, glow and shit contrast make VA more appealing to me. But the only good VA is the Odyssey G7 which is curved…..

  • I got the 32GP850 from that same link the other week it was $615.41.

  • Seriously considering a 34GN850 for productivity. Any advice? Seems to be more cheaper than the Dell 34" IPS options..

    • Best purchase I have made (2021), and you get it cheaper than the Alienware and a standard RGB pixel layout for text.

    • I bought it almost 2 years ago for ~$1650. For someone who games and works from home (software dev), it's pretty much perfect.

  • Seems like OW stock the 27GP850: https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lg-ultrage… , for those interested in Price Beat

    • Which one has a better return policy, OW or Amazon?

  • Looks like deals ended, 34GN850 over $1100 now

  • The LG 34GN850 deal has returned - $979
