    Any certified HDMI 2.1 cables?

  • Bought 2 of theses guys DP-HDMI 4k adapters, didnt work at all for me.

    • Did you use them for DP to HDMI? It is not bi-directional means HDMI to DP doesn’t work.

      • DP signals are 2.5V level, HDMI signals are 3.3V. A passive adapter doesn't change the voltage of the signals, so it is supplying 2.5V (DP) signals to an HDMI device expecting 3.3V signals. Many HDMI devices can work with the lower-than-expected signals, but not all.

An active adapter changes the voltage of the signals.

Yeah that doesn’t answer the question whether mycosys uses as DP to HDMI or HDMI to DP.

@wtfnodeal: it does answer the question of how little respect you have for others though

        • They were active units

      • yes, i know how to use cables

    • So sorry for your inconvenience.
Could you please tell me the specific problem so that we can better figure the problem?
      Kind regards

      • I bought 2 of your active HDR DP-HDMI adapters to use with an nVidia T400.
        https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B082C7BHK8/
        I got no output.
I tested with multiple 8k (and other) HDMI cables, multiple monitors, even tried another GPU. Nothing.
Eventually just wrote it off as junk, $40 down the drain as it was outside the return window, decided to not buy your cables.

        • So sorry to hear that.
The following two points need to be confirmed with you so that we can better analyze and solve the problem
          1. Please make sure you are using the DP interface, your nVidia T400 is a Mini DP interface.
          2. Is the driver installed correctly? Can you output video without using our adapter?
If you are willing, would you mind taking pictures or videos for us to check it?

          • @JeanieZ: Im sorry wut? How the hell do you think i physically plugged them in? The T400 comes with miniDP to DP adapters, miniDP and DP are electrically identical.
How the heck can i install a driver when i couldnt get display in the damn bios? Yes the card works fine with a DP monitor but that wont exactly drive my TV without your faulty adapters so at that point i gave up and sold the thing, bought a 5700XT and put my old GTX970 in this thing. Ate the loss.

  • USB4 Cable 0.8m

Are there any PCs with USB4 yet? A quick search for "USB4" on StaticIce only finds cables, a small number of docks, and a small number of SSDs.

    • +1

A quick search show that ryzen 6000 mobile support USB4 with BIOS update, as well as the upcoming ryzen 7000 mobile. But the laptop manufacture might not yet releasing the BIOS update.

    • It is compatible with Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 3 devices, Windows PC, HUB, Macbook, iMac, Dock, Ultra HD displays, with QC 3.0 and other non-USB-compliant technologies.

      • devices

I specifically asked if PCs support USB4. Not much point having a USB4 cable if PCs only support USB3.

        • +1

Sure, there are USB4 laptops available on the market right now. This link FYI: https://www.xda-developers.com/best-usb4-laptops/
But if you mean desktop computer by PC, haven't found one yet. The newest iMac also features USB4 ports

        • I dont understand your logic. USB4 is based on thunderbolt 3, a USB 4 cable will also support USB 3.2 Gen2. Both of those are common enough. Its not exactly pricey for a 100W cable for either spec.

          • @mycosys: Why buy a USB4 cable when a USB3.2 cable will perform equally well?

If I could buy a USB4 card for my desktop PC, or even a new motherboard with USB4, only then will I consider buying a USB4 cable. Buying higher-rated parts than my PC supports is not only pointless, it's most likely wasting money.

  • Bought the USB-C to HDMI in Aug 2021 but the screen has been increasing going blank for a few seconds now and then.

    • So sorry for your inconvenience.
Could you please info me the product link and the specific model of your laptop so that we can better figure out the problem?
      Thanks in davance.
