Howdy

We have a batch of the 8th Gen 7060's available

Dell 7060 Micro
Intel i5 8500t 2.10Ghz
8Gb Ram
256Gb SSD
AC Wifi + Bluetooth
Win 10 Pro

It looks like they all have a single 8Gb stick and an NVME on the board, so there is room for expansion, but I can't guarantee it. If you wish to have this specifically, just leave a note on your order :)

    • This is a micro form factor so no space for GPU.

The seller usually does this type of spec in other form factors that would accept a card. Just not this one.

  • Jesus I have about 50 of these sitting around. Are they worth this much?

    • put them on Classifieds.

    • Happy to buy one if they are working fine

    • are they 8th gen i5?

      • Got a bunch of 7040s,50s,60s,70s all i5 gen 6-9

        • +1

how much for 9th gen i5? Why have you got 50?

        • I'd be keen to buy a 70 from you!

          • @RossiBG: ToyotaCrownHybrid's location is shown as Japan, so shipping might be expensive! (unless it's a joke)

        • Sign me up. Gen 8 or gen 9.

    • +1

Haha. Please PM, Interested in buying.

    • Only if you are offering warranty and support

    • Yeah, I've been trying to buy batches of 7060's for work and this is cheap. first time I've seen them below the the $300 mark.

    • +2

Sell them. They're very popular for homelab use.

    great chrome os flex machine

  • This company are really good if there's any issues, they're happy to sort things out in a timely manner, unlike some of the other refurb sellers…

  • Can I use this ram to put in the free slot so I would then have 24gb? Or better to buy 2 to have identical rams ?

  • A couple of questions:

    • I assume it's upgradeable to 16GB?
    • Is there a way to output digital audio with this?
    • According to Dell, it will accept 2 x 16GB DDR4 DRAM (Non-ECC memory) maximum. I don't know about digital audio though. Note that the RAM needs to be SODIMM (laptop memory).

      • +1

I can confirm 7060 and the previous model (7050) works with 64GB ram.

    • Use an active DP to HDMI cable to get full discrete multi channel audio from the DP port.

  • Is the wifi built-in or external USB dongle? Can I install Win7 with MCE on it to use as a HTPC?

    • Built-in AC wifi and Bluetooth

  • thanks @Calmago just bought 2 and left a message re: leaving the RAM and NVME slots open for expansion. Now, to find some cheap components for my HomeLab!

    • You don't want it to come with M.2 SSD? Wouldn't it be better to have the OS running on M.2 and to get high capacity SATA SSD as expansion for storage?

      • I just wanted to make sure the RAM has extra slot so I could just add another 8GB, not using it primarily for NAS (already have one setup) but as Proxmox setup.

  • Query - states Win 11 pro in title, Win 10 Pro in desc. Which does it come with preinstalled? Ta

    • +2

It's a free upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 anyway.

  • Nice one, will be an upgrade from Q8400 with 4GB of RAM, and on Windows 11.

Oos now guys. We do have a few hundred more but they are buried in the pallet racking. I'll do this deal again as soon as possible.

    • +1

I thought I missed out, I have my wallet next to me ready to go!

    • these are gen 8 so run windows 11 …that is appealing if running office365

    • +1

      Use one as a HTPC.

Use one for elderly parents to check email on big screen tv. Also watch streams of livestock auctions.

Have as a handy spare for work from home (like a partner suddenly needs one).

DP to HDMI cables carry sound just fine.

Out of the box fresh install and built in wifi. Unubtrusive box that can be completely hidden. Fair price. Low power. What's not to like?

    • Please post, I'm ready!

Just to confirm, the ram is upgradable yes?

      • +1 Would be happy to snap one up.

      • +1 also eager. Checking in regularly.

    Hi OP,

If we change the RAM to 16GB and SSD to 1TB, how much would the deal now be?

  • I've got an older HP 800 g1 tiny that in turning into a Plex server. It has an M2 slot but confused by the different M2 drives -pcie, nvme etc. Will all these work? Also M2 has a key system…how do you know which is compatible. Thanks

  • Would this handle 4K60 playback on YouTube?

    • +1

      Yes

  • I paid $237.30 for a refurb Dell OptiPlex 7040 four months ago through Ozbargain.

It came with a mini WiFi dongle as it does not have WiFi built in.

    It is still working well.

  • Which courier is used? Received a tracking number but it doesn't look like an Australia Post article number.

    • Turns out it is Australia Post.

Got the pc today, it’s tiny. I would recommend everyone to do windows updates and dell software update, including bios. My pc @ key was swapping with “ key after dell update its back to normal.

The pc warranty is until November.

    • My pc @ key was swapping with “ key

I had this recently with Win11 on a Surface Go, I think I worked out it was due to the keyboard being set as a "UK" one, once I switch it to "US" it was fine… I think if you have a US and UK keyboard set it can randomly switch between the two and create an intermittent issue…

      • You can be right, I changed to US.

Mine turned up today too, real nice little PC and looks brand new.

    • That's promising. Hopefully another deal like this comes up before Xmas because I'm hoping to upgrade my parents PC from i5 4th gen

  • Could I use one of these just for internet browsing, Office apps, etc?

    • Yep, it's perfect for that.

    • Without measuring things you'd not be able to tell the difference between this an a $2k computer for those tasks.

That said this is sold out.

  • The lack of comment from the poster/seller isn't a good sign.

  • +1

Mine came with 3 DP ports.

  • PC arrived yesterday, but I didn't have a DP->HDMI adapter, so had to order a cable from Amazon.

This is the cable, it only works from computer DisplayPort to monitor HDMI, which is fine in this case, both video and audio are working as expected. Here's a cheaper alternative.

The unit I received has a third DisplayPort, as reported by others. That is actually an optional port for different interfaces, you can get a HMDI module from Dell, here's the installation instruction.

  • The BIOS has an older firmware, mine was 1.2.17. You may want to consider update to 1.21.0, apparently it is an "urgent" update. But there's always a risk, so it's up to you.

I have installed a spare 2.5" SSD, it didn't detect as first, you may need to push it in a bit, to ensure the gold fingers are fully seated.

    • Can confirm about a firm push for the 2.5" bay so the drive is recognised. I didn't have the same issue with the previous model (7050). Unit was in great condition.

      • Yeah, very well priced for a newish machine in such condition.

  • +1

OP, please release the next batch soon.

    • Stock is still not available.

      • Well, you've got the 16GB version: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/194418579363

Bit pricier though. Not terrible at $436 but not a hard to resist bargain like the original posting.

        • True, considering an 8GB SODIMM module is about $40 new.

      • +5

Stock is available and you jacked up the price by $100 , you should stop advertising on ozbargain!

      • +1

        When next batch pls?

  • Just received mine.. Safe to say I received the dud. Processor maxes at 0.79ghz, troubleshooting reveals the dubious brandless power supply is to blame. Resetting the bios confirms an error stating
'Alert! The AC power adaptor wattage and type cannot be determined. The system will adjust the performance to match the power available.'

    Anyone else get this issue?

    • +1

Crisis averted, after trying everything under the sun, smashing it with the air duster deep in the power socket fixed the issue. note my unit came extremely dusty to begin with so if anyone else encounters the above then i suggest an ole deep clean in that socket ;)

      • note my unit came extremely dusty to begin with

        "Refurbished"

  • +6

It got relisted @ $329 but when returned from work, price was jacked up by $100 , thank you OP for jacking up the price 🫡
