lol $75 delivery to metro melbourne.. no pickup.. damn..

  • +7

    No C&C + $75 postage = no fanx.

  • +5

Plenty of stock around. A few examples being Sydney City, Chatswood, Melbourne City, Southland, Eastland, Chadstone, Doncaster, Southland, Maroochydore, Pacific Fair.

Smaller stores with no or very little electronics are unlikely to have it.

  • Good price surely with wireless sub?

  • +5

i actually called the store - paid for by CC and now can pickup! win! :)

  • +4

Did a price match with Goodguys, and paid their $99 invoice :)

    • Just did the same as the two Myer near me weren't picking up, wow that was pretty easy haha

  • -1

Any idea of the actual sound quality?

Link to the product page on the TCL website for full specs and photos of the sepqrate sub too.

    Cheers
    Rod

      Hi Rod,

      Try Google.

      Kind regards,
      Everyone

        😂😂😂harrrrsssh!!

        but fair ;)

        • +2

The entitlement and/or laziness of writing a comment asking for a link to the TCL website, when he could simply have highlighted "TS6110", right-clicked, and selected "Search Google", in literally a fraction of the time it took to write his comment, seemed mockable.

          • @Frunk: Oops, I actually meant to paste the link in my post for everyone else to see the separate sub because it isn't shown on the Myer page.
            https://www.tcl.com/au/en/product_soundbar/ts6110/TS6110.htm…

Note the lack of question mark on the second paragraph, but I get why you might make the assumption.

Still, any reviews on actual real world sound quality?

Price matched at JB over the phone for pick up too. $14 for 2 more years of warranty (total 3) added as well :)

    • I did the same. He mentioned this to me so I suspect you must have got it from Broadway too 🙂

      • Indeed I did! :D

  • +1

Is this suitable for a smaller tv (43")?

  • Thanks. Price matched at TGG for $99. One Xmas pressie sorted :)

  • Will the Yamaha YAS-209 soundbar for $300 posted recently be much better than this, if at all?

  • +2

Myer's website wouldn't let me check out as it showed OOS. Called Myer Sydney City and was advised they had plenty of stock in store. The store rep was happy to put aside some for collection. Went with a friend as a helping hand but ended up buying two (one for each) as they could easily be carried with a hand. Took a bet by parking in the loading dock 😂, was in and out in 10mins. No parking fines …. got lucky

  • Called Myer Melbourne City and got the absolute run around, Asked me to pay $75 delivery even though they have 19 units at the store. Called my local JB and within two minutes they price matched and said I can pick up now. Sorry Myer, better luck next time.

    • +2

Similar, but the Myer number wouldn't even route me through to Southland or Chadstone..called Good Guys, get a text to pay and all done in less than 10 mins haha

  • jb hifi price match use $10 perks brings it to $99.99 delivered ty OP

    • Can we price match online?

  • +2

Couldn't get it matched at JB or Goodguys because its 'out of stock' for delivery and click n collect on Myer, looks like we missed out boys

Jealous if you got in before

    • +1

Confirmed JB Maribyrnong wouldn't match it.

      • Just got it now, from Maribyrnong Good Guys, they have plenty in stock.

    • damn thats sad alex from support has hooked me up 2 days in a row

  • +1

Saw a JBL Flip 5 posted last night at $99 so yeah I guess performance per price ratio of this one is pretty good.

  • Price matched with JB and will pick up from instore.

    Thanks OP.

  • +2

JB refused to price match. Apparently the price is ‘too low’.

Can’t even buy from Myer online now—it lists as out of stock when you go to buy.

EDIT: TGG refused to go below their cost price of $150, but were able to offer shipping for $10, so I have delivery for a total of $160.00. The dream would have been $99 pick-up, but this is a ridiculously good price for a new soundbar anyway, so I can’t be too salty.

    • Yeah JB Brunswick was kind enough to offer $174 as the price from Myer including delivery.

  • good guys Pakenham, Narre warren, cranbourne, No stock
    😑😑

  • +1

just tried to order over the phone from JB, person on the other end asked "is this the TCL soundbar? we aren't price matching that sorry"

    • haha too many Ozbargainers asking

      • +1

old mate at JB sounded like he had had enough for the day

great success calling TGG sales line - guy had to double check the price as his system showed $170ish but he checked the Myer website and was happy to match at $99. Picking up from my local store once they pick and pack it

        • I'm on the line at TGG as well. Fingers crossed but at least they weren't like the guys at JB haha. Guess they did have enough people asking about it today.

Edit: No luck. They offered $150 which is $5 above the price they paid from TCL allegedly. Anywho enjoy your soundbars guys!

        • whats the number please?
          1300942765

My TGG wouldn't do less than $180

          • +1

@teacherer: Try TGG Taylor Lakes if you’re in VIC. They offered $150 pick up.

    • same

  • Called TGG -> "Unfortunately we cannot do the price match for the product at the moment"

  • Tried TGG and they won’t price match. Lady on the phone said it’s coming up as $180 on their end

  • +1

    Can this be PC speaker?

    • +1

If you can get it for $99 it can be anything you want.

      • Can it pose like a French girl for me?

  • Just bought one and plugged in. But can we change the bass level?

    • How is the sound quality?

      • Better than the tv with bass. Better to connect with HDMI cable

    • did you find out how to adjust the bass? i would also like to know

      • No. I connected it through the HDMI. My tv is Samsung, I think I can do some change through there. But I haven’t tried yet

  • JB says no due to no stock available for click and collect at Myer
TGG also said no, that would be below cost and $180 is their lowest.

  • +5

Price matched in JB Hi-Fi Brighton, staff said is a crazy price and triple check with the price on Myer website, I was so nervous he would check the click and colloct option and find out the $75 delivery fee. I guess today is my lucky day :)

    • I think they have price match policy ‘by postcode’ that as long as the JB store and its competitor you are price matching both are located in the same state and showing ‘in stock’ you should be fine without needing to add delivery fees.

  • I tried with Binglee online earlier today when it was in stock and they flat out refused. They directed me to 4f of their policy and when I asked which criteria in 4f they were referring to they disconnected the chat :-(

Seems like they don't price match anything that isn't basically RRP.

"Competitor's clearance lines, display stock, liquidation or external administration sales, limited stock offers or time-limited or special promotion stock sell-downs including restructuring or amalgamation;"

  • Just arrived home having gotten JB at Springfield to match it.

EDIT: The sound is seriously incredible for the price. Granted my benchmark for sound previously was a JBL Charge 4 which actually cost more.

  • Thanks Op! Grabbed 2 at Pacific Fair Broadbeach. Tried to pay by CC. She could not find the code on the website (it has changed, probably becuase of no C&C). I too was worried there was no C&C but 10mins from the store, I asked if she could hold. I decided to buy an extra.

Just trying to setup now Chromecast TV - Bluetooth works fine. I have a TCL TV and Tlink (arc) ON. Might have to try different HDMI's on TV. Note HDMI on SB is ARC only

    Cheers

    • I got one as well, as did a lady the same time I was there. So out of the their stock of 5, I guess that means at most 1 left at Pac Fair.

    • I tried connecting to another HDMI port (non ARC) on my Sony X9000H but couldn’t get the SB to work. Plugged in the optical audio output and it seems to work fine with no obvious sound quality loss compared to HDMI ARC. Reason for me not wanting to use the HDMI ARC port is due to it being the HDMI 2.1 port as well.

Managed to get one priced matched from JB- $114 with 2 year extra warranty. Great deal, told the guy that local Myer had them in stock if you turned up they’d sell to you, he rang to ask and couldn’t get through(thanks terrible customer service myer🤣)

    • Lucky bastard I didn't wanna ask for too much or spend too long in case it got discussed further and revoked lol

  • Thanks OP, picked one up from Melbourne CBD Myer. Had a $80 Myer gift card that came in good use today!

  • Thanks! Rushed there after work this afternoon and they thankfully had plenty at the Brisbane CBD store, pretty sure I had a fellow OzBargainer in front of me at the counter too buying the same thing. Wasn't too hard to walk home with, and now my shitty bedroom tv isn't so shitty anymore!

  • +1

Even though C&C was removed as an option, I had a hunch the local Myer stores might have some stock not earmarked for C&C. Southland was OOS but told me there were seven at Chadstone. I went to Chadstone at 3pm and snagged one. The floor salesman was surprised it was discounted so heavily. I'm very happy with my purchase. This soundbar will go to the family room TV and the kids playroom TV will get the old soundbar which isn't nearly as good as this one. Thanks to OP.

  • You snagged one at chadstone for $99 and didn't pay the delivery fee?

  • Thanks @binnz001
Luckily, my town TGG gave me price match with Myer through phone order.
    I will pick up tmr.
Finally I bought soundbar for my TV.
I HODLed almost 3 years after I missed Onkyo Soundbar $349 at JB Hi-Fi.
Is it good with Amazon FireStick 4k max?
My old tv doesn't support Dolby Atmos so I'm very excited!

  • +2

Ok, so I finally got one from Narre Warren Good Guys…… installed it and turned it on Bluetooth mode and was surprised at how shit this Sound bar/sub setup was. I was going to return it tomorrow until I read up on something about ARC…..connected the HDMI and wow it was way better. Solid sound and great purchase, thanks OP.

    • +1

I found the same thing. The sound quality via Bluetooth connection is pretty shitty. Once u change to HDMI ARC is 100% better.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Got one earlier today, I was lucky enough to be targeted for $20 Myer voucher ( https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/724119 ) so ended up paying $79 for it.

Can someone share their pic of price match from TGG or JB? That would help those who couldn’t

    • +1

not sure it'll help in this format but: https://puu.sh/JlnFR.png

was after I paid for the soundbar through the text invoice/payment system they have going

      • Can you please share the invoice with the date and the product name pls. Thanks.

        • +1

          I didn't get one sorry

  • +1

Bought it yesterday from myer pacific fair, they also had all their tvs on clearance for half price if anyone is interested.
Hooked it up this morning, decent sound, vast improvement to standard tv speakers.
    IMO good value for $99

  • There's a table full in Perth City if anyone's on the lookout.

  • Just got mine from Doncaster VIC, they had about 7 left as of 30 mins ago, call ahead and ask them to put it aside for you.

    • This is a joke, I called them yesterday and she told me they did not have any stock and the closest was Melb CBD.

      • There's 2 very similar models, the guy on the phone misunderstood me as well, he thought it was 180 watt, be sure to say 240 watt.

        • I gave the lady the exact model number… lol

  • Tried JB online chat and phoned 2 stores, would only price match with delivery fee included. First Good Guys store I called said nup but the Brighton store were willing to price match and got their last one. Thanks OP!

    • same, tried 3 times with JB livechat they wouldn't do it

rang a local store (5' away) and the guy said yes

      plenty of stock

  • Walked into Myer Sydney City as it showed in stock, and my calls didn't go through. The floor rep was coincidentally talking to another colleague about this soundbar and how it's too good for its price and selling like hot cakes. When I approached him, he mentioned the last one was booked by someone on phone and no more stock.
Was disappointed and started walking back, but saw one on display and asked if I can have the display piece itself. He said fine as long as I'm fine, but then just on a hunch, checked once more and was able to find a new one back in the storeroom. Also, activated the Commbank Myer $10 cashback offer.

    • I got the display unit. Looks like new anyway so not too fuss about it. Last of its kind in stock. Was at Myer Chadstone in VIC.

    • Sorry mate, it was me… After long calls to Myer Chatswood and City, and trying to price match with GG, was able to get through to the Sydney City store at last…. and booked the last one :) Hope my efforts were not in vain and the soundbar is worth it.

      • All's well that ends well :) I'm waiting to open and check it out too. Had to forgo WFH to travel into the city, so hoping it's worth

  • +1

Just got it now, from Maribyrnong Good Guys. Called store and they told, to price match, you have to be in store and speak to manager.
Went to store and asked if I can meet the manager, manager asked me is it for the price match for TCL speakers, I told yes, She told plenty of people came and done it already, she smiled and applied it on the spot, No questions asked. Plenty in stock as well.
    Thanks OP.

    • +1

Wow that was great. Respect to TGG Maribyrnong for price-matching as heaps of spaces just said no (although I suspected it was easier saying no to people on the phone rather than in person). Still, good store!

    • That's weird, least to say. I called a few GG stores in Sydney and eventually was able to speak to the salesperson in one of them and he told me they had been sent an email prohibiting price matching Myer in regards to the soundbar. He explained that Myer was clearing their audio-visual stocks, and the best he could do was $199. Lucky got one from Myer Sydney City…

      • They have put an undercover agent in Myer? What I heard from Myer staff was they were no longer carrying TCL branded products not that they stopped selling audio/visual products.

  • What's the go? Are they really selling this at a loss? As some JB & GG stores have mentioned and rejected price matching?

    • +1

Dunno how reliable it was but the sale rep at Myer Chadstone told me that basically they were clearing out this particular model and each store got some stock allocations. But as of now pretty much all stocks have gone by now (at least at Chadstone). Also rang around a few TGG and JB: most JB reps just straight up said no to price match and one TGG rep said that it is definitely below wholesale costs and also refused to pricematch (they were kind enough to offer $150).

So long story short: a decent soundbar system that was released like 2 years ago got on a huge sale that no one expected as the lowest I've seen around is like $150-$200 at the moment. Was it worth it: well for me it is as I've been using my TV speaker and they were too damn low for my tastes and I've upgraded from a JBL Charge 2 so def worth it (my Charge 2 was $99 when I bought it years ago as a display unit at JB) so I'd say you could waste $100 on worse. Can't compare with other brands as I have zero exposures to those but I can tell that the bass is great, dialogues got a whole lot clearer and better but setting up with my Sony X9000H was a bit weird via Optical Audio (had to tinker a bit) but worked eventually. That or losing the eARC/ARC port which is also a HDMI 2.1 port (weird!).

      • Bass is good? mine is ridiculously low, you can't even tell its on, can you adjust it?

        • Mine is pretty good (can feel the rumbling on the floor). I don't dare to turn it up too much as it might scare my bunny and disturb my neighbors.

Unsure if you can adjust the bass level as there was no dedicated adjustment menu for me on my Sony X9000H and I am way too afraid to tinker with the TV built in audio menu (but I could see that it supported Dolby Atmos Plus. I connected mine via Optical Audio output and not HDMI eARC.

          • @Grey 13: The tv may support Dolby Atmos pass-through but not sure if the TCL soundbar supports Atmos?

          • @Grey 13: My sub might be DOA then, it makes no difference, but I got nothing to compare it with, so I don't know what to do.

            • @GTR12: Try to play some movie? Or music with heavy bass? I used Amazon Prime Video to test out and never went past volume level 2 on the Soundbar (any more than that either my partner will kill me or my neighbor will start complaining about me to the local police/council lol).

But yeah if all else fails then just try to get a replacement unit or a refund.

              • @Grey 13: Volume level 2? Huh?

Any suggestions on prime or music? No way am I refunding, my C1's speakers suck compared to these.

                • @GTR12: As in the 2 dots showing on the Soundbar since there is no interface on my TV haha (not using eARC instead using Optical Audio Port).

I watched Uncharted and some LOTR movies. The rumbling was so loud it woke my bunny up and he looked at me like: Da fuq m8? :))
