RRP $2499 and now $249. Probably a price error but just ordered one and see what would happen, good luck gents

    I just spoke to my Dell rep from work. We’re a pretty big company and has heard about this through the grape vine. Apparently they were thinking hard and were leaning heavily towards honouring the price but the amount of orders placed exceed the world wide stock lol. They litterally don’t have enough stock, period. He suspects a massive discount like sub refurb price. Expect an offical word tomorrow morning as it will probably have to be cleared up US time.

            • @TheCandyMan2020: i didnt sleep well and decided to stay in bed a bit more and saw this order at 8AM… had i woken up at my normal time i would have been busy with my coffee and exercise etc and wont see this till a bit later… if i was an early bird today i wouldn't have got the worm!

          Yeah no way the covid era toilet roll buying grifters from here didn't jump on this the second it came up. 360 orders maybe, if some contain thousands of purchases in one transaction.

      Do what Bunnings did and fulfil 1 to each until they run out of stock, then offer vouchers to the rest. (says a guy who got in in the first few mins)

    • Yeah nah, that's a cop out. Put us on backorder if you have to, the 34" OLED was out of stock for months, people buying went onto backorder and waited a solid 2 months. Do that here, I'm sure anyone would wait. Stock levels isn't an excuse

    • If they don't have stock to fulfill, how can they offer anything? Based on the hope many will disagree the refurb price?

    • This is why I ordered another S2722QC 20 minutes after.
      It they are run out of steak, at least I will get a piece of cheesecake, hopefully :)

      Nope. Mate brought one in eofy sales, have played a few games on it. Not that much better than my 34p. Sure if you were coming from a 27" pleb monitor it's a great buy at $750

    Just got off the chat with (the legend) Muzeeb. Since others have said that he/she knows about it, I tried getting the 27" 4K orders re-issued instead, and it worked! Both have an order number and in the 'confirmed' state.

    P.S. For those still waiting in line: I started waiting at 6:56 pm and was 5th in queue, and got served just after 8 pm.

            @julz15: Nah, I ordered the 27" and this Alienware one. I didn't ask about the Alienware in case they wouldn't re-issue the other ones.

      It's a joke to get people to sit on the chat wait line for hours just to have the operator laugh at them
      Similarly to the other one where someone said confirmation emails will be sent at 3am you'll have 30 minutes to agree and get the deal..

    Why do they use the term 'in production' in the status page? Theyre not getting built on demand

    • They might also not be boxed / ready to go from the warehouse immediately.. ie the same device shipped form the Aisa Hub to AU will be labelled and have different 'accessories' packed like manuals and plugs then if it is boxed to go into Japan (possibly even firmware flashed for default language setting). Screens are made but not 'completed ready for the customer'.

      Then again maybe they have JIT manufacturing and build to meet demand which is why shipping dates can fall way back.

      They were for the 34" OLED, you had to wait for it to be manufactured

      Some people have moved it from received to confirmed apparently…. However if all orders are getting cancelled that won't matter. Save yourself 2 hours of waiting and then trying to convince the chat rep, for it to just be cancelled tomorrow anyway regardless of status

        May have to convince the Top manager or the CEO , I don't think the online chat rep can do anything about it.

    • Most orders are not 'confirmed' payment hasn't been taken so 0 chance they will ship. By using the chat some lucky people had the order redone and completed payment on this second copy now the order is free to move through the system and there is a better chance they will ship.

      • On the other hand there’s a chance the change of order pushes it lower on the list because they’ll be reviewing all orders for this monitor.

        • Haha yeah this was my concern. I got in at 8:33 but the legendary Muzeeb updated my address and bestowed an order confirmation onto me. However, now I am probably right at the end of the queue if they do decide to honour early orders.

      • Dell won't let any orders go through for $250. It's either all or none. The sh1tstorm that would come from selectively letting some through. If we get cancelled we all get cancelled, you will just get a refund if payment taken

        • If they re shipping any it would be fair to do so on a first in first out order basis..

    Muzeeb just confirmed he's the one who put the pricing error and is telling people they'll be getting their screens. He's been trying to get himself fired all week and this was the best he's come up with
